@_OKJ__ The impact of mathematics and physics can never be overstated. It's one of the reasons I'm studying physics for my BSC although I'm more interested in the physics of the earth itself (Geophysics). Truly fascinating.

Reminds of the story of how the beautiful blue planet of Neptune was discovered about 200 years ago… In the early 19th century, scientists and astronomers felt the solar system was settled…..ordered, mapped, and predictable. The known planets at that time moved in accordance with the laws laid down by Isaac Newton, and astronomers felt they had a firm grasp on our solar system. But something was wrong. The orbit of Uranus….discovered decades earlier by William Herschel….behaved behave strangely. It wobbled, as if an unseen hand lurking in the darkness beyond it was pulling on it. This small irregularity sparked Two young mathematicians, working independently…Urbain Le Verrier in France and John Couch Adams in England to set out to solve the mystery. Using nothing but Newton’s equations and relentless calculation, they each proposed a very bold idea… that there must be an undiscovered planet disturbing Uranus. They didn’t just suggest its existence….they predicted where it should be in the sky,its size and mass. In 1846, Le Verrier sent his calculations to Johann Gottfried Galle at the Berlin Observatory, urging him to look in a specific patch of the sky. On the night of September 23, Galle turned his telescope to that precise location. There, within a single degree of Le Verrier’s predictions, he found a faint, unmapped object. It wasn’t a star. It moved. In that quiet moment, a new planet had been found….not by chance, but purely by mathematics. The planet was named Neptune, after the Roman god of the sea which is a fitting title for its deep blue colour. it was the first planet ever found through prediction and mathematics rather than direct observation. a triumph of human reason.

I don’t really understand the maths it takes to send humans behind the Moon and bring them back safely. And the more I sit with that, the more it genuinely messes with my head even tho my love for physics and my knowledge of physics is astounding to a point Somebody had to work out a path where the Moon’s gravity is pulling you in, the Earth is pulling you back, and you’re moving just fast enough and not slow enough not to get trapped by either. They had to figure out the exact angle to come back into Earth’s atmosphere too. Too steep, you burn up. Too shallow, you bounce off and drift into space. And they had to get all of that right at the same time, for real people sitting in a small metal capsule about 400k kilometres away from home. Nothing in that system is standing still. The Moon is moving. The Earth is moving. Even the Sun is pulling on everything. And still, some people looked at all of that motion, all of that chaos, and turned it into numbers you can follow. Go here. Adjust here. Come back here. And unlike nepa light, it infact works. There’s also that moment in the journey where the crew passes behind the Moon. No contact with Earth. No signal. Just silence, with a massive rock blocking everything they’ve ever known. The only reason they can stay calm in that moment is because someone, somewhere, did the maths and proved they’ll come out the other side. I don’t know what it feels like to trust something that much. To put your life in an equation when you’re that far away from everything. But I do know this for sure, whatever that level of thinking is, whatever it takes to reach it, it might be one of the most extraordinary things human beings have ever done...

Christianity is a really funny religion, man… Imagine thinking that whatever it is that created this majestic and possibly infinite universe, in all its complexity, scale, and structure, impregnated a Jewish girl somewhere in Palestine 2,000 years ago,can get jealous of other gods, can regret its actions, can command one tribe to commit genocide against another, endorses slavery, gets angry, thinks blood sacrifice is a rational route to forgiveness and creates eternal suffering for people who do not believe very unconvincing stories in a book. Think about how completely ridiculous that leap is. Christianity (and its little sister, Islam, which believes the language of this concept of a creator is Arabic…in light of the thousands of beautiful and rich languages on the planet) really is an insult to whatever majestic being created the universe, if there is indeed one. And images like these below actually solidify the position of atheists or the non-religious…in fact, it is exactly why they are atheists. The sheer majesty and complexity of the universe don’t push atheists or any rational, non-indoctrinated mind, for that matter toward religion…It often does the opposite. It highlights just how implausible and, at times, absurd many religious doctrines appear by comparison. Because they hold such a concept…that which would create this universe…to such a high standard, that organized religions and their books, when you read them, end up looking really, really silly.

This question has got me thinking ever since I saw it. I believe I should say something about it. I understand the feeling we have when we look at the terrifying scale of the cosmos. And it is only logical to think about how it could have been built in 6 days. On the surface, it feels mathematically impossible. However, I know that this conflict only exists because we subconsciously force God (an infinite creator) into a finite human clock. To answer this properly, we need to arrive at a consensus. Both the Quran and the Bible agree that the Almighty God created the heavens and earth in 6 days. If we agree to this, then we can move forward. First of all, we need to deconstruct time itself. A standard day is defined by one rotation of the Earth facing the Sun. However, how do we measure the first phases of creation using a 24-hour earthly clock when the Earth and the Sun did not even exist yet? We all know that Time is a physical construct bound by gravity and mass. God created time. Therefore, he is not trapped inside it. Then we need to go into the scriptures to understand the word “Day” itself. The Quran, which was revealed in classical Arabic, used the word "Yawm." The Bible (in Hebrew) used the word "Yom". Both Yawm and Yom share the same ancient Semitic root. Today, people restrict these words to a normal day. But in the actual ancient Semitic usage, both terms meant a distinct epoch, a long era, or a defining phase of time. In fact, the Quran defines this relativity internally. In Surah Al-Hajj (22:47), Allah says a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of your counting. When we go further into history, the answer becomes even clearer. Augustine of Hippo, one of the most authoritative theologians in the entire history of Christianity, addressed this very question in his work “The Literal Meaning of Genesis.” Mind you, he wrote this book in the fourth century, which is more than 1500 years before any modern cosmology existed. He stated clearly that the days of Genesis should not be read as ordinary solar days. He argued that the human mind cannot fully comprehend what kind of days those were, since the sun had not yet been created to measure them by. If we come further to Islamic theology, Imam al-Tabari, in his Jami al-Bayan, recorded the positions of Ibn Abbas and Mujahid from the earliest generations of Islam. They explicitly stated that the six days of creation were not earthly days but rather each day was equivalent to a thousand years of human reckoning. This was the position of the first generation of Islamic scholars. Interestingly, Imam Al-Qurtubi in Al-Jami li Ahkam al-Quran stated the philosophical reason behind it all. He explained that God could have created everything in a single fraction of a second with the command “Be.” He said that the Almighty built it in six stages to teach His creation the concept of deliberation, order, and the law of cause and effect, which has been the driving force of all innovation and discovery ever since the inception of man. After all I’ve said, it is safe to say that we land in one common spot: (1) That the word “Day” is not literal in the modern sense. (2) That the human clock cannot accurately measure cosmic creation because it is a logical impossibility to use a solar clock to measure the universe before the sun was even formed. Time is relative, and the Creator is not bound by the physical constraints of it. (3) That the titans of ancient theology established this understanding centuries before modern cosmology existed. (4) That the six stages represent divine order and a deliberate choice to establish the laws of physics and teach creation the concept of process, structure, and deliberation. I hope this answers your question, Oladele.

I have a question for we Christians. Sincerely asking. 24 hours make a day, and 72 make up three days; Since this is common knowledge, how come Good Friday to Easter Sunday is just two days and a few hours, since Jesus resurrected after the third day? And it's a fact that Jesus himself said that he will be in the tomb for three DAYS and three NIGHTS, (Matthew 12 vs 40). And the book of Leviticus 23: vs 32 proofs that 24 hours is considered a full day, since according to ancient times, Hebrews counted a full day as sunset to sunset, 24 long hrs. Now here is the confusion, did he rise on the third day, or after three days? Was he really crucified on Friday, or was it on Thursday? Did the church make a mistake in their calculation, or is it accurate? Note: This is for the purpose of learning.

The only reason people who do not believe in God reject Him is that God is beyond their comprehension. They always demand evidence for His existence. What they fail to realize is that ignorance or inability to fathom something does not mean it does not exist. It's just like someone saying that the laws of thermodynamics are incorrect simply because he doesn't understand the topic. Above all, love God.

@GloriousGod01 The laws of thermodynamics can be tested, a claim of a God cannot. That's the fundamental difference. When someone sees the results of the laws of thermodynamics being tested they don't need to believe, they now know. Tell God to give us undeniable evidence that everyone can see.

Religious people. Christians, say alot but say nothing. Hey, your God is supposed to be the same yesterday, today, and forever. Any miracles he/she/it did in the past should be replicated today and tomorrow because your god never changes. Oh, sorry, your god doesn't exist. It's all human creation that's why you can only find him/it/she in the Bible.

Neo, let me tell you something. To our ancestors who lived 100 years ago, if you told them people can speak to each other clearly and even see themselves whilst living in two different continents, they'd call it lamba. To us, it is not lamba because we actually lived it. You call it lamba because you saw an INACCURATE AI video based on someone's imagination of what could possibly have happened. The story of the red sea crossing —like almost all biblical stories— are hard to believe considering the fact that we don't experience such miracles and direct divine intervention in our daily lives any longer. So something sounding impossible doesn’t make it false—it may simply be beyond your experience. However, Hebrews 11:6 says: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” This means, we need faith to even believe the Bible to start with, because we are dealing with things that sound esoteric to us. You must have the faith that the bible is true. Interestingly, no one expects you to simply have faith in the bible just because anybody says so. Christians don't just believe the Bible is a holy book without good reason. Christians have good independent reasons to believe in the AUTHENTICITY, FACTUALITY and DIVINITY of the Bible. . There's a reason the Bible is different from every other book including the Qur'an. This is why the Bible debunks such claims as the ones that say it is a man-inspired book for control and other blasphemous utterances. Some of these reasons are: (1) — Fulfilled Prophecies (Literally one of the most interesting things to discover about the Bible). No other book has accurately predicted world events up to centuries before their fulfillment whilst being accurate up to the date. We’re not talking about vague guesses—there are detailed predictions about nations, kings, and events written centuries before they happened. For e.g: (a) Fall of Babylon— Isaiah 44(named before it happened). The prophecy naming Cyrus as the king who would conquer Babylon was written 150-200 years before the event eventually occurred and before Cyrus himself was born. It was stated he would conquer Babylon and free captives. According to History, Cyrus the Great, did indeed conquer Babylon exactly as described and issued policies that allowed exiles return (including Jews). (b) Destruction of Tyre in Ezekiel 26. The method of destruction was described. This was fulfilled when Alexander the Great destroyed the city exactly as stated. (c) Destruction of Jerusalem including the temple, Luke 21. This was fulfilled in 70 AD by the Romans several decades after. (d) The prophecy about the Messiah, Isaiah 53, written 700 years before Jesus Christ. (e) There are many more prophecies including the prediction of the endtime behaviour of humans. And don't even get me started on Daniel's Prophecies! Those ones are a nuclear powerhouse by itself. (2)— Scientific Accuracy Ahead of Its Time. The Bible reflects accurate knowledge beyond human understanding at the time it was written. (3)—Internal Harmony and Consistency: For a book written by 40 different writers of various backgrounds across a 1600 years period to be as internally consistent as to tell a single unified message, only shows Divine inspiration. (4)—Preservation of the Bible and its survival despite serious campaigns to destroy it, as well as the consistency of its message despite having thousands of manuscripts, simply shows there's a God behind it who wants the book read by humans! (5)—Practical Wisdom That Works: A book from God should produce good results in real life—and it does. The whole essence of the Bible is founded on the principles of -Promoting love, peace, self-control, -Encouraging strong families and -Discouraging harmful behaviours. (6)—Honesty About Human Weakness: The Bible doesn’t hide the flaws of its own heroes: (Kings fail, Prophets struggle and Apostles made mistakes). A human-made religious book would likely glorify its leaders—but the Bible is honest and balanced. And (7)—It Explains Life’s Big Questions: -Why we suffer -Why humans die -What happens after death -What the future holds. Only a divinely-inspired book could do all of these accurately. On that basis, we can trust and believe the stories in the bible, like the red sea crossing.
