I'm fascinated that cost/token optimization doesn't have a real framework yet. It's an undergrad managerial econ problem. Number of users, tasks, task difficulty, model costs, plus auto-scaling down to a free local model when you can. The constraints aren't infinite. Who's gonna build this?

10 years ago: Frying chicken in a gas station. Today: Flew back from Australia after educating developers on the other side of the planet. Wild to look back. No secret formula. Just thousands of hours trusting the process, leveling up through every bug, and refusing to quit on yourself. You have no idea how far you can go if you just commit to the work. Get after it.

I’m excited to share I made some big updates to RecallMEM. If you haven’t seen it yet, RecallMEM is my OSS AI Memory/framework. The idea is simple: Your own personal AI that remembers everything across sessions, days, weeks, & months. My biggest update now is voice. And no, not STT (record audio, transcribe it, send it as text). It’s now using @DeepgramAI’s Voice Agent API, so audio will now stream in live, the LLM responds, and Deepgram speaks back. AKA you own personal AI voice agent with MEMORY. The important part is that this voice agent will also use the same memory system that chat session’s use. So voice conversations can now: - pull from memory - save back into the same chat session - & update your memory (in nearly real-time) I’ve also tightened memory writes: If the model proposes a fact, the app will check if the supporting quote actually exists in the transcript blob before saving it. npm is updated too: npx recallmem

I make it a priority to implement STT into everything I build. I absolutely hate typing lol.

I don't write code anymore I haven't written code in I think 6 months? I think everyone is like this no?
justadev@just_adev

@levelsio @TermiusHQ so do you write code? or you just write to Claude what do you want? ex. you want a new feature or you want a change. you just prompt or what ? or Claude is mainly the assistant here? my question mostly is how much trust you put on claude while you are on prod.

That is very interesting. Were you the one who pushed him to try Codex? I finally convinced my friends to check out Claude Code and Codex, and they are COMPLETELY hooked on it. They don’t use X so they’re not up to date with AI stuff. Like they heard of Claude Code and Codex but they didn’t realize how powerful it could be until they actually sat down and used it.

@levelsio No Pieter, everyone is not like this. Most people who call themselves programmers are not like this. There are 9-5 normies who haven't touched Codex, Claude, nor Antigravity. There is a gap widening. That's my phrase these days

Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.
