Spoke with a LIV Golf player who said his understanding of what Scott O’Neil said Wednesday to team GM’s was that nothing has changed for them. And that means that funding, to the understanding of this player, is still good through 2032. And that’s how he looks at the situation right now.

Okay, BIG news... High ranking sources have told me that "funding and operations for LIV Golf are continuing as planned." In other words, NO closure any time soon and this week continues as planned.

If LIV shuts down, I'd make all of them play random tours around the world and have to qualify for the PGA Tour like everyone else. Koepka and Reed apparently saw the writing on the wall and got ahead of it. Everyone who stayed to go down with the ship needs to earn their way back. Very few have shown the form necessary to compete weekly on the PGA Tour. I know this won't happen...a few will get the Brooks Koepka treatment and be welcomed back.

Ryan French from Monday Q Info reports that LIV Golf is about to shut down. Speaking on X Spaces last night, Ryan said: “I think everybody should probably stay near their phones… “I have some pretty good sources and I’ve heard that some other people have sources that LIV is shutting down.” Later on in the episode, he said: “I’ve got everything from, and these are people that I trust, that you guys know. Players didn’t get paid today, power went out because the bill wasn’t paid, employees didn’t get paid. Stuff like that. “There is definitely a lot going on… Things are not good.” Ryan is very well connected and respected in the professional golf world. He would not be saying this unless he was certain something was coming. Expect this story to move fast. @acaseofthegolf1

@MMcEwanGolf Same argument could be made for all the corporations laying off thousands of people.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but for every multi-millionaire golfer who will be fine if LIV *does* close, the league has many , many more employees who have families and mortgages and bills to pay. I’d put myself in their shoes, not Jon Rahm’s or Bryson DeChambeau’s, before crowing too loudly.
