No, the fed is not an “independent branch of government”. It is part of the Executive branch. There are only THREE branches of government. The Constitution is very clear on this. The President runs all of the Executive branch, and has full control. The only legal question is when a bill passed through Congress and signed into law, the criteria of that bill must be respected. So, a president can not fully eliminate a system set up by that law without congress, but a president can do anything he/she deems fit to run that system.

Sorry the Fed is a independent branch of government and they base their decisions off all sorts of data so waiting in about six months in a year when the tariffs really kick in and you’re paying more for everything you’re gonna be asking Trump to cut the tariffs and although the industry right now is 6% when I bought my first house in 1991 I had a 10% interest rate and back in the early 80s.
