SADNESS! I might be leaving X. It has never been less fun to be a content creator on this platform. I’ve been posting regularly on Twitter/X since around 2010.
The algorithm is insane. Spend years building a following? Yeah that doesn’t matter. Very few of your posts will ever actually be seen by your followers.
The fact that my posts regularly have a 15 to 20% engagement rate but never get boosted into the For You is wild. I have 231,000 followers yet my posts start at 200 views and rarely pass 1,000. What? That’s actually crazy.
The only way to be seen is to engagement farm and I don’t want to do that. I used to be able to make posts and those posts would be seen by people who clicked follow. It was a good time.
Now there are a handful of blessed accounts that go viral every time they post because the algorithm has decided they will.
Everyone else on the platform? Stinks to be you. I’m tired of playing the game. I have spent MONTHS trying to learn everything about the algorithm and create content that will perform well and it just doesn’t.
There is a social credit score on this app and because I have been creating content for YEARS I have accumulated many blocks and mutes. So the algorithm has decided my account is not good and so I’m not allowed to be seen by the general population of X.
I remember being so excited when @elonmusk purchased X but the introduction of AI into the algorithm has made it so bad that it’s a waste of my time. I actually wish I could get back the hours of life I’ve spent trying to learn the algorithm because none of it mattered.
I’ll be on Facebook and Instagram if you need me. I’ll check back in down the road to see if the algorithm gets better and the site again becomes worth my time.

@PieterVand37940 Your pov is so interesting. It's totally possible to live an entire life here in America and not be a victim of any real violence. I'm almost 52 in the southeast and can't imagine the life you guys have lived. Welcome to the best country on earth!

@VoinMikhail @Nickisbackbaby In the 90s, I was living in California and met a guy that was from Russia. He had an accent so I asked him where he was from and he didn’t wanna tell me at first finally he told me Russia he seemed embarrassing and I told him you’re in California. Nobody cares.
English

@Nickisbackbaby Yes, anti-Russian racism (from American whites). Anti-white racism (from blacks) as a child. That was the worst. I repressed the fact that they're monsters for decades until, once again, it became undeniable. Now, I just have bottomless hatred for them. Savage apes.
English

@Nickisbackbaby Yes, early 80s. I worked at a store and the black female assistant store manager, targeted white female employees to the point that the black female employees complained to the white store manager.

The real systemic racism today isn’t about White people holding Black people down. It’s a self-sustaining system inside Black communities that’s actually run by Black leaders. It works like this: Black neighborhoods get packed into heavily Democratic districts through gerrymandering, creating guaranteed voting blocs. The political machine then needs those votes to stay in power.
To keep getting them, they promote a narrative that racism is everywhere and White people are the real enemy. The more you push this message, the higher you rise in the status hierarchy. In this culture, your status goes up the more loudly you complain about racism, Republicans, and systemic oppression. The loudest victims and professional activists sit at the top. They get book deals, TV appearances, speaking fees, and power. The school teachers, pastors, and influencers who enforce this narrative are next.
They get respect and influence by attacking anyone who steps out of line — especially Black conservatives. Regular Black folks who just want to work, raise their kids, and live normal lives get very little status in this system. Success through personal responsibility actually threatens the narrative, so it’s quietly discouraged. It’s self-bondage. Black people have the freedom to vote differently but rarely do, because their entire social hierarchy is built on staying in the grievance game.
The worse conditions get in their communities, the more it proves the narrative that they need more help and more Democratic policies. It’s a perfect system. The crop — the votes — gets harvested every election because the people running it have convinced everyone the chains are actually protection. And the people enforcing it most aggressively aren’t White racists.
They’re Black leaders who’ve built their entire identity and income around keeping their own people emotionally enslaved to this story.

Craig, I tweet in English out of respect for my American family.
You are welcome to use the translator if you wish to. 😉

@PieterVand37940 Doesn't matter which collective you use, Afrikaans is still your language yet english still gets used. Why not tweet in Afrikaans? It has a translate function too doesn't it?
