@lordspencer Agree.But it has to, this should have happened immediately after the first leg or second leg at the latest. Efl hoped we would beat u and not have to do this just pts deduction. First game has and should be a 3-0 win to Boro. Better explanation from efl would have prevented this

It’s 19.19 on Wednesday, days before the Championship Play-Off final and Hull have no idea who to prepare to play against. It’s a farce - we all know the appeal will reinstate Southampton - it’s so obvious. They should have been removed the minute that it came out - it’s cheating

🚨 Exclusive: Hull City are consulting lawyers to see if they have a case to be promoted straight to the Premier League after Southampton (subject to an appeal) were expelled from the Championship playoffs. Hull are unhappy at the prospect of facing Middlesbrough at Wembley having spent over a week preparing to play Southampton. Saints appeal is this evening and they will argue the punishment is too harsh. Hull's players had a pre-planned day off today and will return tomorrow with either two days to prepare for Boro, or potentially learn the final is against Southampton again. Hull are leaving legal avenues open, including the prospect of a challenge after the final.🐯 🤝 @alex_crook

@LukeF125 Let's be clear. Southampton didn't cheat. The players didn't cheat. The fans didn't cheat. The club didn't cheat. The manager and his staff involved cheated. The players gave everything to get to that final. The manager should be gone, no ifs or buts about it.

@geoffcraft00 @JRH1865 EFL should have acted straight away. The spying was done in the days before the first leg over 10 days ago! Boro should have been awarded a 3-0 win before the second leg and we wouldn’t have this issue. Hull chairman agrees with the outcome

@JRH1865 For me they either play Southampton as per results of semi final and Southampton get a big fine or points deduction next season etc. Or city just get automatic promotion. Any other outcome is spurious at best. Boro shouldn’t even be in the equation

It’s the only fair outcome at this point. Boro lost both legs didn’t they? And Saints cheated. Neither deserve to contest it.

We should have been given 3-0 won in first leg immediately after they admitted it. Then none of this back and forward!

@Agunbay01 @JacobsBen I think there is a legal argument for hull to be promoted, the wording of the expulsion is not giving the win to Middlesbrough but removing Southampton, if the EFL had stated Middlesbrough had won by awarding them a couple of goals then yes they should rightly be in the final

@EFL_Comms Neither a Saints fan, nor a Boro fan, but this punishment is just ridiculous. Bit like giving a life sentence to someone caught driving 35mph in a 30mph zone. Vastly disproportionate.

@therevba @saintsfcreport Can’t go to the court of arbitration, according to talk sport. If they fail this appeal. That’s the book closed. Unless other clubs come out and take legal action against them, this outcome is the end of Boro’s legal action. We need to win or we have wasted the money haha

@saintsfcreport You'll burn £5m to 10m in legal costs taking it to the court of sporting arbitration, most probably to be told to fuck off.
