@dorfman_p Hi Paul, just wondering if people have considered get the “off peak” hot water heater to turn on during this time? Would that help increase the load and make it cheaper for consumers?

@ConnectionsGrid @markgurman I do miss CarPlay, having choice and which map app would be good. Fortunately Tesla’s software is really solid. I wonder if Uber driver would really appreciate it? In other EVs using CarPlay the navigation comes up on the main screen. But in Tesla’s I often see the phone sideways
English

@markgurman I’ve never missed carplay and curious if this will get new people in a Tesla. Seems more like a complaint from people who’ve never actually tried one. Waze and texting integration would be nice but has never been a big deal. CarPlay ultra has more of the interesting tech.
English

The plan calls for CarPlay to live in a box within the Tesla operating system and not take over the full screen like in most cars. It works wirelessly and is standard CarPlay, not CarPlay Ultra. Still, a huge win for Tesla, Tesla buyers/owners and Apple to get this done.

@JoeJustice Sorry my grammar was a bit off. At the end of a sprint you should have an increment of shippable product. But what happens when you have testers that will to a test cycle in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environment, post sprint, very sprint cycle.
English

@Reaper_101 Hi Benno! I’m not sure I understand the question. I’ll try- I use TDD for every goal, every mission, every business. Was that your question?
English

@SawyerMerritt Do you think it would apply to enhanced autopilot customers?
English

@JoeJustice Hi @JoeJustice how do you think incorporate “UAT” but the business into scrum? Can a you avoid a “waterfall” type phase where all the sprint works get test in an end to end fashion.
English

@ryanjaycowan What size is your solar system?
With my setup - I have a 5 kW inverter, and the solar panels plus the battery can only output 5 kW. It’s frustrating at times knowing the solar panels can output 5 kW, and the battery can is the same. But the total output of both is restricted!
English

@sydney_ev Is that why AGL have been paying for people to expert between 6:30 to 8:30. Good thing for those that have batteries

Looks like #coal power is letting the state down again, with a big % now offline, on a high temp high demand day.. What ever happened to the ever reliable always on coal power? good thing we have enough #solar and #renewables to help ease the impact. #auspol
English

@sydney_ev I’ve been wondering why hot water system controlled by the distributors (ie off peak) can be turned on during the day and offer customers cheaper prices when renewables are high?
English

I have a question for the #nuclear energy people in #Australia, Sydney's grid at the moment is 100% #renewable! yes, 100%, so, if we had nuclear powerplants coming online soon or about now, how would they operate in such an #energy environment when renewable provides 100%?

English

@DunkenKBliths @sydney_ev I’d love to know the answer. I’m also in the endeavour area and never saw negative prices with amber. Even when the FIT was negative the purchase price didn’t go negative.
English

@sydney_ev Also, why can’t all the off peak hot water heaters be set to start heating during this time? I believe these are under control of the energy network provider.
English

Sounds like a good time to introduce FREE #EV charging periods to soak up all that extra supply! #solar #renewable abc.net.au/news/2024-09-2…

@grantbuttenshaw @sydney_ev @_AlexSimmons_ @NSWRFS I must B lucky, in 5 road trips in the last 5 years I’ve seen 4 vehicles (ICE) on fire. All of them a 4WD or large SUV towing something. Also there’s that Nissan Skyline that crashed Darling Harbour burning a number of people alive. But that’s availability bias. Real stats needed
English

@sydney_ev @_AlexSimmons_ @NSWRFS You need to look at the stats for ICE cars with arson removed....9/10 ICE car fires (as least) as far as I can judge are arson...
Very few are caused by the car even when in an accident...it extremely rare...most are old and have been modified or poor designed and cheap vehicles
English

@sydney_ev Don’t forget about the extra tyre rubber dust they generate. 😜
English

@ns1815 @sydney_ev Plus petrol stations are more common so you don’t think about the range as much.
But that’s changing with more and more charging stations. So you think less about the range.
English

@ns1815 @sydney_ev I wonder if they are more susceptible to range decreases because they’re so aero. Putting 4 bikes on top of a model 3 has quite a large range impact (basically putting a sail up there). It has an impact on ICE car too, but often they already have poorer aerodynamics.
