Pleased to share my favorite high-resolution capture of the Artemis II launch- the moment the SLS is clearing the tower, captured by a sound-triggered camera placed near the pad. I'll have prints linked in my bio for this one, and here's a short thread about how it was captured

The grid’s going green! And look how much has changed in only 10 years. October saw renewables supply a record 51% of Australia’s main energy grid 😎 We’re heading in the right direction, but we’ve still got to step up the pace to cut pollution and to cut costs.

@dorfman_p Hi Paul, just wondering if people have considered get the “off peak” hot water heater to turn on during this time? Would that help increase the load and make it cheaper for consumers?

@ConnectionsGrid @markgurman I do miss CarPlay, having choice and which map app would be good. Fortunately Tesla’s software is really solid. I wonder if Uber driver would really appreciate it? In other EVs using CarPlay the navigation comes up on the main screen. But in Tesla’s I often see the phone sideways

@markgurman I’ve never missed carplay and curious if this will get new people in a Tesla. Seems more like a complaint from people who’ve never actually tried one. Waze and texting integration would be nice but has never been a big deal. CarPlay ultra has more of the interesting tech.

It took 68 years to reach the first terawatt of solar power - then just two years to hit the second. ⚡🌞 To put that into context, 2TW is equal to the whole power capacity of India, the US, and the UK combined, and enough to power 1 billion households worldwide!

@elonmusk Will HW3 cars receive any love? I just subscribed to FSD on my 6 year old Model 3 and it works really great but curious about any plans to update from 12.6.4

Many more Tesla self-driving V14 improvements still to come, but wide rollout of V14.1 has begun. 14.2 rolls out in a few weeks and then 14.3 a few weeks later, depending on safety testing. There is so much change that we are carefully confirming each one.

Although I am practicing basic kanji, I test myself on hiragana and katakana memory in the morning. This is the first morning I got 100% correct on the first try! 🥳 maybe there is some mistake, but it looked correct to me 🎊

@JoeJustice Sorry my grammar was a bit off. At the end of a sprint you should have an increment of shippable product. But what happens when you have testers that will to a test cycle in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environment, post sprint, very sprint cycle.

@Reaper_101 Hi Benno! I’m not sure I understand the question. I’ll try- I use TDD for every goal, every mission, every business. Was that your question?

BREAKING: Elon Musk says the honest answer is that Tesla will have to upgrade HW3 vehicles for those that have bought FSD. "That's going to be painful and difficult, but we'll get it done. Now I'm kinda glad that not that many people bought the FSD package haha."

@JoeJustice Hi @JoeJustice how do you think incorporate “UAT” but the business into scrum? Can a you avoid a “waterfall” type phase where all the sprint works get test in an end to end fashion.

probably too tiny to read, but here is the actual visual of the course closing QnA board. The black PostIts I answered live, so no answer is typed on them. The grey ones I added an answer after class and posted them here, on X, for the students and any interested people (or bots?)

@ryanjaycowan What size is your solar system? With my setup - I have a 5 kW inverter, and the solar panels plus the battery can only output 5 kW. It’s frustrating at times knowing the solar panels can output 5 kW, and the battery can is the same. But the total output of both is restricted!

Looks like #coal power is letting the state down again, with a big % now offline, on a high temp high demand day.. What ever happened to the ever reliable always on coal power? good thing we have enough #solar and #renewables to help ease the impact. #auspol

@sydney_ev I’ve been wondering why hot water system controlled by the distributors (ie off peak) can be turned on during the day and offer customers cheaper prices when renewables are high?

I have a question for the #nuclear energy people in #Australia, Sydney's grid at the moment is 100% #renewable! yes, 100%, so, if we had nuclear powerplants coming online soon or about now, how would they operate in such an #energy environment when renewable provides 100%?

@DunkenKBliths @sydney_ev I’d love to know the answer. I’m also in the endeavour area and never saw negative prices with amber. Even when the FIT was negative the purchase price didn’t go negative.

@sydney_ev Also, why can’t all the off peak hot water heaters be set to start heating during this time? I believe these are under control of the energy network provider.

@grantbuttenshaw @sydney_ev @_AlexSimmons_ @NSWRFS I must B lucky, in 5 road trips in the last 5 years I’ve seen 4 vehicles (ICE) on fire. All of them a 4WD or large SUV towing something. Also there’s that Nissan Skyline that crashed Darling Harbour burning a number of people alive. But that’s availability bias. Real stats needed

@sydney_ev @_AlexSimmons_ @NSWRFS You need to look at the stats for ICE cars with arson removed....9/10 ICE car fires (as least) as far as I can judge are arson... Very few are caused by the car even when in an accident...it extremely rare...most are old and have been modified or poor designed and cheap vehicles

Apparently the @NSWRFS and NSW Fire brigades put out an average of 7 #petrol and #diesel car fires every single day. Petrol and diesel #car have a 1.53% chance of #fire every 100,000km, whereas an #EV has a 0.025% chance over the same distance.

@ns1815 @sydney_ev Plus petrol stations are more common so you don’t think about the range as much. But that’s changing with more and more charging stations. So you think less about the range.

@ns1815 @sydney_ev I wonder if they are more susceptible to range decreases because they’re so aero. Putting 4 bikes on top of a model 3 has quite a large range impact (basically putting a sail up there). It has an impact on ICE car too, but often they already have poorer aerodynamics.
