Thank you so much for sharing my story and the heart behind @Rebuildscholars. 🌸 This journey has been one of faith, resilience, and above all—Amuno. Hope is just not a word but the promise we carry for the girls we serve.

The Courage to Carry Hope Her father was always taking in new students, especially those who had been recently orphaned. “On any given day, I’d come home from school and find a new child at home,” @GladysBdrenda recalls. “My father looked after so many and helped pay their school fees.” Three years ago, Brenda found herself unknowingly walking in his footsteps. Having started out as a school career counselor, she enjoyed guiding students. But one day, during a field trip, she began to wonder: Was this the real need for the young people she met? To find answers, she convened several focus group discussions with students. What she heard shifted her course. Out of those responses, @Rebuildscholars was born. Today, the organization runs an education fund that currently supports 15 girls to stay in school. Yet their work is not limited to paying fees. Brenda and her team often have to sit down with parents to negotiate, to plead, and sometimes to protect. She recounted a moment when they rescued a girl from early marriage—a story that embodies the heart of their mission. Sustaining this work is no small feat. They raise resources from friends, churches, private companies, and anyone willing to give. “It’s tough but fulfilling,” Brenda tells me, with a gentle chuckle. I ask her, “What keeps you going?” “Giving hope,” she answers without hesitation. “Amuno in Ateso.” Then she smiles, adding softly, “That word even carries heavier meaning when said in my language.” Amuno. Hope. My heart goes out to Brenda—and to all who wake up every day to be conveyors of Amuno. #WalkTalkConnect #Amuno #HopeInAction #LocalGiving

This week, I had the profound honor of serving as the keynote speaker at the “Give Her a Chance” fundraising gala organized by @Rebuildscholars : This was a transformative event dedicated to raising funds to support underprivileged girls to access education. Sharing my personal story of how I was given a chance to Education gives me all the reasons to call upon other people to Give Girls a Chance to Education. The evening was filled with heartfelt stories, inspiring performances, and a collective commitment to creating lasting change. As I stood before an audience of passionate advocates, I shared insights on the power of education and mentorship in unlocking the potential of women and girls. Together, we celebrated the strides made and acknowledged the work still ahead. The gala emphasized the importance of community-driven initiatives in fostering education for Girls and challenged everyone to give the little they have and support those in desperate need. Funds raised will support programs that provide scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and resources aimed at breaking down barriers to education for Girls. I am deeply grateful to the organizers, volunteers, and attendees whose dedication made this event possible. Your support is a testament to the collective power we have to drive change. As we move forward, let us continue to champion education for girls. Together, we can build a future where every girl has the chance to succeed in Life: Education is the greatest investment: #MakeItCount #GiveHerAChance @WezeshaGirls @Educ_SportsUg @RaisingTeensUg2 @EduCannotWait @vowforgirls @TACSEVU @BeBraveGlobal @GirlsFirstFund @GPforEducation @EchidnaGiving @FAWEUganda @MastercardFdn

It is time to normalize menstruation, elevate the conversation and remove every barrier standing between a girl and her education. Because when girls rise, entire communities rise with them. #EndMenstrualStigma
