Local authorities have become drunk on power, using so-called Experimental (because they aren't) Traffic Regulation Orders to force through mass road closures - with almost no checks or balances to reign them in. We're calling on the @transportgovuk to bin them. #AbolishETROs

@stevegeddes1976 Also Iffley Road, which provide traffic filter free access to Magdalen College School. You couldn't have designed a more perfect scheme for hindering the riff raff from driving around their own city, while ensuring restriction-free access to out-of-town private schools parents.

Your periodic reminder that OCC's congestion charge and traffic filters schemes don't place a single new restriction on out-of-town parents dropping their kids off at North Oxford's numerous private schools. Funnily enough, traffic and congestion hasn't dropped around here.

The new leader of Oxfordshire County Council does not appear to be a massive fan of certain media outlets. Which ones might he have in mind?

Behold, the new leader of Oxfordshire County Council. He outlines his transport vision at minute 5. Spoiler alert, it involves a hurt finger. youtu.be/zR29PSfQB_g?si…

Fair. To which add: Thousands of consultees he ignored. Everyone whose buses were cancelled following the introduction of the LTNs. Everyone suffering from displaced traffic he claimed had evaporated - especially medics working on 12 hours shifts whose commute he made longer.
Save East Oxford Businesses@eastoxbusiness

Andrew Gant says he got horrid online abuse. Nothing compared to the pain he forced on east oxford business owners who had to shut their businesses bcoz of what he did to us Dreams crushed, income lost, debts to pay. he f***ks off with no consequences bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Our new Oxfordshire transport overload, making one of those classic Tim-isms that got him booted off the LTN decision. A bit like the time he 'fessed up that a reason. for implementing the congestion charge was the liability the council (voluntarily) owed to the bus companies.

@KakocratWatchUK @LibDemsOxon @_LiamWalker_ @ReconnectingOx @YewneekPhoto @MaCgroupUK @markchristie @JerichoConnect @eastoxbusiness Things are clearly extremely desperate if @LibDemsOxon goons have anointed him as their new fuhrer. I've not forgotten the wooden and insulting videos he made with Charlie Hicks:

They're saying it out loud now - councils are going to take your parking space away.

Had to go to Oxford recently to see a client. Managed to get not one but two congestion charge fines. At every turn petty little tyrants in government / local government just try to make your life harder.

Oxford city businesses feel 'fobbed off' by congestion charge monitoring. Not-great monitoring data was pulled, other promised monitoring hasn't happened - so businesses did their own research (which showed negative impacts). Who'll be fired for this? oxfordmail.co.uk/news/26041291.…

A consultation on expanding the Zero Emmission Zone was supposed to kick off about now. But it's not currently listed on OCC's "forward plan" of future scheme launches, which stretches out for several months ahead. So what do we think is happening with OCC's ZEZ expansion plan?

@ReconnectingOx I got taught out by the congestion charge when I took my mother into Oxford the other day. Apparently I should have registered her Blue Badge 10 days before I knew I was going to visit... Only £5 but annoying...

One of Oxford's main bus companies has stated the punctuality of its service "worsened materially and reached unsustainable levels" since the congestion charge went in, as hoped for benefits didnt materialise. They're talking about cutting services if free park and ride is axed.

Rather than losing their jobs over this, council officers will probably be invited on "thought leadership" panels on how they "successfully" implement this shitshit, to share their "wisdom" with other councils. Maybe topped off with a taxpayer funded "trailblazer" awards dinner?
Save East Oxford Businesses@eastoxbusiness

This is what the s****y council has done to St Clements when they put in the Congestion charge. A major shopping area empty at mid day today with footfall down 18%. Then they tell us its good for business. they need to lose their jobs over this
