@Recpunter

I am a gambler, a punter, a bettor. The reason? Because I enjoy it. I am not a professional.

Really don’t get the weird obsession with knocking Ken Pitterson on here for what are brief opinion segments. People go on like they’ve never ever backed a loser in a sport that essentially EVERYONE loses more than they win. Paddock watching is a specialised talent; it’s hard.

Can you ever imagine Boris Johnson or Nigel Farage being subjected to the vicious media savaging that the PM has just been subjected to?

Shameful 😡 Reform MPs couldn’t be bothered to speak up for their communities during my heating oil debate today. While families across are hammered by soaring costs, I was there with @LibDems fighting to bring bills down. Reform? Empty seats. Empty excuses. Missing in action.

Maybe the biggest myth in cricket is that T20 cricket is more entertaining than other formats. It's really not. It takes batting elegance & pounds it out of shape. Turns the art of bowling into a humiliation ritual. Rewards brawn over brain. Makes stars out of nobodies. I hate it

My bet is that come May 6 Reform does better than the 21% Lord Ashcroft’s poll predicts ( a new low for Farage) and that the Tories do worse than 21%. Nevertheless, Nigel should show he’s the bigger man and open talks with Kemi after next month’s election. Unite the Right.

@g_gosden I was thinking of voting Reform but by calling me thick you have changed my mind. Good tactic. Keep it up.

Astonished that we haven’t heard from @NJ_Timothy on the subject of the Palm Sunday procession across Trafalgar Square today. Why is he not complaining about domination?

@PaulEmbery And the one who didn’t stand and would have been the natural successor to Wilson - Barbara Castle, wounded by the defeat of ‘In Place of Strife’, a policy which potentially would have pre empted The Winter of Discontent and Thatcherism.

The 1976 Labour leadership election was contested by Callaghan, Foot, Jenkins, Healey, Benn and Crosland - every one of them a political titan. Compare this line-up with what we have today, not just within Labour but across the entire political spectrum. How we have fallen.
Lee David Evans@LeeDavidEvansUK

🚨 NEW PODCAST: Was this the most talented Labour leadership election ever? In the second part of our miniseries on the 1976 transition of power, @richardmarcj and I discuss the remarkable field of candidates who sought the lease of Number 10 after Harold Wilson. 1/2

@PaulEmbery I agree but Jim Callaghan's opposition to "In Place of Strife" was a big, and rather cynical, mistake. It led to to the election of Mrs Thatcher.

Kemi Badenoch complains to Keir Starmer that farmers are hit by the increasse in fuel tax. As far as I know farming enterprises use red diesel on which there is no tax. And this woman wants to be prime minister!!! #pmqs

As the price of natural gas spikes across Europe for the fourth time in the last five years remember those extremely clever people in Reform and the Conservatives who want to abandon renewable energy and rely even more on gas 🤡 🤡

@Norfolkforever @DPJHodges Bookies don't get it right or wrong. Their odds reflect the money bet with them. If the Green's odds are shortening its because there is money for them. That money may of course be wrong.

@DPJHodges The bookies aren’t *always* right. They got it utterly wrong on Brexit and they also got it wrong in 2020. When I finally went to sleep at 4.00am Trump was 4-1 ON to win….

Sources in several parties starting to point to some strange betting patterns around Gorton and Denton. Greens odds have been shortening all week. But that's not reflecting what anyone is picking up on the ground.

Football belongs to players and fans, not to soulless, joyless pedants with no feel for the game. Senseless decision, an affront to football. Ruling out that third goal is one of the most ridiculous moments of the season, totally against the spirit of the game. The law’s an ass, if it’s a foul, play advantage, and/or how can it be DOGSO if there’s a goal scored? Can’t blame the ref tbh, blame the law and the law-makers and the fact that refs denied the opportunity to apply common sense, living in fear of those who mark their homework. #LIVMCI
