Asian characters still get whitewashed occasionally — Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Scarlett Johansson as Motoko Kusanagi. But Black characters? Always cast Black now. As they should be. Here’s the question nobody wants to answer: If race-swapping a character is wrong when it goes one direction, it’s wrong when it goes the other. If race-swapping is fine, it’s fine both ways. Pick a principle and apply it consistently. The receipts always show up. 🦋
