There is no cult in the statistics of our country's economic performance over the past 20 years+. These numbers speak for themselves. A person, “not in a cult,” would be willing to look at all of the data from all over the world that expresses the economic damage of COVID-19 on the world's economies. They would not have a bizarre explanation for how stock and commodity markets crashed worldwide during COVID-19. If this were a “conspiracy,” it would have been one of history's most epically planned conspiracies. The sheer breadth, and when I mean breadth, to support all of you conspiracies, the number of actual “actors” that had to be in on the conspiracy is extraordinary. Nearly every doctor, biologist, and infectious disease expert in the world would have had to have been willing to play in this epic charade. Then we would have the millions of nurses and support staff worldwide; they, too, would have had to have been part of a vast conspiracy. The shutting down of the world's supply chain is now another epic conspiracy. There would have to be an extremely compelling reason for such damage to the world's population, for what control? You're all bonkers.. You don’t need any more control than being a billionaire in a modern world where most advanced countries in the world, other than the obvious, are some form of Liberal democracy. However, the US has fallen this year and is no longer considered a true democracy. I’ll leave it to those who don’t want to be willfully blind to check that out for themselves. Your idea of the power of modern democracies seems to misplace the concept of capitalism in our economies, which runs nearly laissez-faire. Perhaps not as much as neoliberals/libertarians might want, but a system that is so successful that every day, a new millionaire and billionaire are made. Only a person in some cult has been affected by places like X, True North, Rebel News and insufficient real information sources like The Economist, Financial Post, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, etc. There is a long list of organizations known to have balanced, objective and non-partisan reporting. All the publications I listed there are actually what you would call your side's publications, conservative think tanks, etc. So you will notice an absence of Mother Jones, The Nation, etc. I listed what is considered internationally conservative in economics and centrist in all other areas. These are real news sources; even Mother Jones and The Nation are excellent publications, even if you're not left-leaning. You should know the other side's arguments to be informed. No? In closing, one would have to assume that for COVID-19 to have been a successful global conspiracy, millions of people would have had to be in on the secret. It is statistically impossible that many people would continue to play their parts all these years later. It boggles my mind, and whether you give a shit or not, I have genuine sympathy for those who became so broken during lockdowns, being bombarded with one of the most extensive, most deceptive disinformation campaigns in history - maybe hyperbole, but not much. During the height of the lockdowns, Facebook, Twitter, etc., all of the major western social media companies were taking down millions of bots, hundreds of millions of posts a day of information traces directly back to Russia, North Korea, Iran, China, etc. @grok Please confirm the assertion that during the height of COVID-19, hundreds of millions of bots and posts were being taken down daily by North American social media companies. It wasn’t a conspiracy by North American interests or the WTO for world domination. It was a coordinated campaign to keep harmful information from being disseminated by adversarial foreign actors such as Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, etc. After all these years, still thinking your freedom is being taken away is nonsensical. Canada is considered a healthy democracy.

Isn’t every retweet or tweet on X something important or of value to those who post them? Even yours here. If it weren’t important to you, then you wouldn’t have replied so often. Obviously, they must be powerful, important words as they have triggered you, one out of billions of posts made here daily, and you claim you didn’t even read it. I’ll respectfully let you have the last word.

First, not a boomer. That shouldn't matter. Triggered? A little? Lol. If you had to ‘suffer’ through it, that's on you. No one forced you to read it in this endless sea of X posts. Did they? Put on your big boy pants. There is nothing more than a bit of realism there. Maybe a little polemic poking, but groups like this deserve that just as well. Just desserts? If you're outspoken about something — don’t expect others not to be right back at you. If you're stuck on one race, being some perfect ‘colour,’ then it would be on you, who cannot imagine the future and how little it means. Do you think that once we are a multi-planetary species, and we will be, the colour of our skin will still matter to some? It shouldn’t matter now. You like being white? Right? Well, guess what? You have one ‘lifetime’ to enjoy it. How about you worry about your short journey here and let others, regardless of colour, enjoy theirs. Moreover, who are you to predict the end of history? Even more so, who are you to dictate it? Don’t pick fights that you’ll lose. Oh, by the way, you too will grow older, maybe even old one day. Then, you may have more respect for what a lifetime of experience brings.

You people are off your fucking rockers. I had to read a few comments; I knew they would be mind-numbing. This one really got me. The Kageri plan. Mixing black people's blood with white until the white race disappears. It's so stupid it hurts my fucking brain. A couple of thoughts. Why do you care? How old are you? How long will you live? The entire world is interbreeding, and because of that, over a few more thousand years, most people on Earth will have similar skin tones and features. There is no superiority in skin colour. I know those in this thread think so, but that's ignorance, bigotry and racism — not facts. As we move to the stars and start having incredible sex with intergalactic species, folks like you will really be losing your shit. You may as well get used to evolution and progress now, as all your backwards thoughts won’t stop the inevitable. • White (European origin): ~11% → 1 in 9 people • Black (Sub-Saharan African): ~15% → 1 in 7 people • Brown/Other (Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American mixed): ~74% → 3 in 4 people See those ratios? You'd better get your cracker asses inbreeding now if you want some of those defective genes to make it into the future. Who cares what colour finds love and fulfillment…. Can't believe bent minds like this still exist.

That is more conjecture and whataboutism. I have family who are doctors in Canada. Some complain they don't want to be treated by a person of colour. Guess what? If you're like that, you are re-retriaged to the end of the line. People who are still stuck on skin colour in the 21st century are backwards. If the US is the same as Canada, most of our racists are found in the Christian, gun, and Bible belt. Something that has always signalled a profound ignorance. A Christian who is a racist obviously doesn't understand their religion's idea of egalitarianism, and also doesn't realize their “whitened” god was near 90% likely to be of Middle Eastern descent.

Nearly 85% of Norwegians pay a 22% tax. It's not as bad as the OP tries to characterize it. Norwegians have a balanced view on progressive taxation, and more importantly, the concept of marginal utility. You or I shelling out a 100k for a surgery is financially devastating; someone earning 1.5 million a year or more, a hundred grand is easily absorbed, without any loss of comfort or experience. The OP above doesn't say what they pay for insurance, #1, and they don't say what portion their employer pays. They also don't mention that their society doesn’t need to spend hundreds of millions a year preparing for mass casualty events that happen near daily. I’d gladly pay the top tax rate in Norway simply because their my “right” to live violence-free has greater value than someone's “right” to bear semi-automatic weapons they can pick up in a country that has a lot of churches and firearms stores. I guarantee there are more firearms stores in the US than churches by a factor of 20 - 1. If people talk about taxes without mentioning marginal utility and what tax rate the majority of people pay, they are lying because they omit much nuance and complexity. Just a Canadians two cents.

You could start with some self-reflection on how you started this thread. If you can’t use some simple meta-analysis on your own words, then all the genius in the world won’t unwrap your own willful ignorance. Let's see if you're smart enough to ascertain how your words handicap further argument. Your first comment had two of the most basic logical fallacies that even a beginner rhetorician at a high school level could identify. So far your argument's premises rest on blaming others for white peoples lack of success — otherwise you wouldn't be arguing this point. This is a false dilemma in of itself. I personally don't know a person in my entire life that has blamed DEI programs in Canada for handicapping their success. Women continue to benefit from DEI programs because men still dominate many fields, often for no reason other than entrenched patriarchal bias. Is this racist as well? I'm not doing all the work for you. There is a clue for you, this word, “bias.” It might help to circle around to your original comments to get the hint.

@shellallar @rationalposts @ravioligurl I'm warning you now that I have argued and studied this subject a lot. You will lose. I’d quit before I put my foot in my mouth many more times. You certainly don’t want me addressing your comment about how DEI is racist. You won't want to comment on X for months if I do.

@RedIron777 @rationalposts @ravioligurl How do white people here start with anymore privilege than anyone else. White people built this country into the 1st world country that it is. DEI programs should not exist at all. All people here have the same opportunity, regardless of skin color. Anything else is racist.

Actually immigrants from all over the world built Canada. If your brave enough to read it. Please come back and tell me white people built Canada alone. From ChatGPT •About 15,000 Chinese workers were recruited, mostly from southern China. •They did the most dangerous and underpaid work: blasting tunnels, laying track through the Rockies, handling explosives. •Thousands died from accidents, landslides, disease, and harsh living conditions. •After construction, Canada imposed the Chinese Head Tax (1885) and later the Chinese Immigration Act (1923–1947), effectively excluding Chinese immigration for decades. And more, 🚂 Infrastructure & Industry •Chinese labourers (1880s) •Built the Canadian Pacific Railway through the Rockies under brutal, deadly conditions. •Without their work, Confederation’s dream of a coast-to-coast Canada would not have been possible. •South Asian (Punjabi Sikh) immigrants (early 1900s) Worked in British Columbia’s sawmills and forestry sector. •Despite discrimination (e.g., Komagata Maru incident, exclusionary immigration laws), they were key to BC’s logging and lumber industries. •Caribbean immigrants (1950s onward) Thousands came to Canada to work as nurses, domestic workers, and railway porters under restrictive programs. Laid groundwork for Black Canadian communities in Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax. ⸻ 🏙️ Urban Labour & Community Building •Black Canadians (descendants of Loyalists, Underground Railroad, and Caribbean migrants) •Built settlements, churches, and institutions in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and later in Prairie cities. •Black railway porters were leaders in Canada’s early labour and civil rights movements (e.g., Canadian Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters). •Japanese Canadians (late 19th–20th c.) •Worked in fishing and farming on the West Coast. •Pioneered industries like salmon canning and berry farming in BC before WWII internment and property seizure. •Ukrainian, Polish, and other Eastern European immigrants (late 19th c.) •Though “white,” they were often treated as outsiders. •Helped break the Prairies, farming land under harsh conditions, and forming strong multicultural rural communities. ⸻ 🌾 Agriculture & Food Systems •Indo-Caribbean and Filipino migrants (late 20th century to present) •Crucial in seasonal agricultural work (fruit picking, greenhouse farming, meatpacking). •Filipino Canadians are also a backbone of the health-care sector today. •Mexican agricultural workers (Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program, since 1966) •Provide essential labour for fruit, vegetable, and greenhouse production in Ontario, Quebec, and BC. ⸻ 🎶 Culture & Identity •Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) •The foundation of Canada, whose lands and knowledge made settlement possible. •Immigrants of colour have enriched Canadian identity through music, food, politics, and activism, often while fighting systemic racism and exclusionary laws. ⸻ ✅ Bottom Line Canada was built not only by European settlers but also by Chinese railway labourers, Black railway porters and Caribbean nurses, South Asian lumber workers, Japanese fishers and farmers, Filipino health workers, and Mexican agricultural labourers, among many others. They contributed to Canada’s physical infrastructure, economy, and culture — usually while facing racism, legal exclusion, and systemic barriers.

Lol. There is a strawman and whataboutism. White North Americans still start in life with great privilege. Besides. Not being a lazy, whining twat all my life and blaming other people, I made the best of my life. If you're white, born and raised in Canada, and you're struggling continuously, then 99 out of 100 times it's because of choices you made. That Chinese kid, who sat at the front in math class, getting A’s in all their subjects while you were failing gym and home economics? Guess what? They paid attention and found success. Life is never without struggle; it would be boring if everything came easy. So many white people seem to think they can fuck around during their school years, never get a trade or advanced education, and now they still feel they should have the “right” because they are “white” to have a $500k home, a couple of new shiny cars, and nice vacations? If you were born and educated here and think you should have DEI programs, then you're the problem, not the solution. Just saying.

This is pretty funny. @PierrePoilievre's reign as the junkyard dog is coming to an end. I like @SeanFraserMP a lot. In fact, I think he should lead the Liberals after a couple of terms of Mark Carney. We need Carney to carry the tide, drowning @PierrePoilievre in it, and in a few terms, Sean Fraser would be ready to lead. @PierrePoilievre will never be PM. He doesn’t have what it takes to lead a nation. This is now obvious to everyone except the farthest right in Canada. We know who they are and they ain't conservatives, they aren’t even patriots.

Pierre Poilievre: How can arrogance and incompetence so comfortably reside in one man? Sean Fraser: Pierre shows us every single day how arrogance and incompetence can reside in one man. It’s funny cuz it’s true.
