@PE_Spathi @MeloBlox @Roblox To push the metaverse platform vision ig. The team behind audio stuff has consistently annoyed developers. Forced Audio section nobody uses in-game that devs cant turn off and then this. I asked them for a toggle a long while ago and they said they have no plans to. Like psh okay

@MetaQuestVR I'd argue it's on the developer for having a tutorial players want to skip. It could be more engaging with gameplay instead of walls of text.

@Noble_Draconian @altulige I'm a man of believing when I see it, and so now I've seen it. I can believe in it, but I feel like Roblox should have a more powerful R6 option now in studio. Idk what all that entails, but yuh

@altulige And I got mauled alive for telling the R6 glazers that R6 can be emulated with R15 perfectly fine if using the correct animations. Lo and behold, I was right.

@KreekCraft @MiniToonfan99 Although the focus was on game updates, this kind of game could better be supported by the platform if people could find it easier via filters & tags instead of just algo discovery. This is an example of that long-term engagement algo update people praised hurting games more.

Y'all are overthinking this. Piggy is a live-service multiplayer game built for daily play sessions, constant grinding, and ongoing rewards. Piggy Intercity is a single-player story-driven RPG with a clear beginning and end. You play it, finish the story, and move on. That’s just how games like this work. Just go play something else and come back when there's new content.

@Midnight_Krys Not that it'd be easy, but what are your thoughts on making Arsenal off Roblox? Other shooter games don't feel the same. With the company decisions, I don't play Roblox much at all, but I miss Arsenal. 🙏

@MaximumADHD They could hire people like us creators who know a lot to monitor the site actively and improve things instead of relying on AI moderation and people that don't understand the platform. They've defunded a position like this in the past to put money elsewhere

I’ve kinda just been watching the situation with 2D clothing from the sidelines with frustration. On one hand I understand why they are doing it, but I hate that publishing fees have become their goto solution for trying to keep moderation under tighter control.
Blotnik@Artnik19

Its insane to me that a game company can have such disdain for its history and visual identity that they are actively trying to kill what people associate them with.

@Midnight_Krys This is literally a terrible update. I always made recolors and remakes of classic clothes that I enjoy. I likely won’t be uploading almost any clothing in the future if it’s going to cost this much

No one's going to pay more than 10 robux on classic clothes. Not because the effort isn't valued, or the item itself isn't valued. It is because classic clothes being as cheap as they are, is a bastion of ROBLOXs expression. It can be as complex, or as simple as one wants with extreme levels of accessibility. The market changes takes that away from us. If you want to make a small item just for yourself, or color swaps of your catalog... then sucks to be you cough up 800+ robux now.

@TweenService It is an AI company because that's the direction of the CEO. Hiring those in that space that believe that vision reinforces that AI view. The products you see -AI thumbnails- are a product of the environment Roblox creates intentionally. They don't want to be a gaming company.

@Quenty @HelloItsVG The policy, yes. BUT, Roblox not responding and helping developers, totally unacceptable. That doesn't make sense. Roblox knows their appeals suck. Scale or not. They've internally defunded human moderation positions in favor of AI investment. To the void this goes.

@HelloItsVG before you had to query `GetPolicyInfoForPlayerAsync` to show X handles, now you can't at all. So yeah, your own X handle is 100% disallowed, and this one actually makes sense from Roblox's perspective imo.

Roblox nuked a 4-5 year old game for putting its own X handle in the codes menu. Telling players "follow us for codes" got flagged as "sharing personal information." >Suspended in seconds >A week later, still down >Every appeal ticket auto-closed by a bot claiming they never replied You email proof you replied. The bot closes the ticket anyway. No human ever replied, and a whole team that lives off that game is just locked out. Roblox can ban you in seconds but can't review you in a week. If your own X handle counts as "personal information," every game with a codes menu is one bad scan from going bye bye.

@TrainerDuck @beascripts Yes, long-term retention that id argue hurts more story driven or other kinds of games. Maybe not on the individual level, but on the platform audience level Filters & Tags has been continuously sidelined in favor of algorithmic tweaks & fads like Moments. That'd do more

@beascripts Yeah and I saw that roblox is making changes which is nice I read a article by Evanbear1 on twitter going over it where they gonna also prioritize retention along with monetization. I do hope more long term games become a thing.

#RobloxDev One of Roblox's biggest problems isn't just monetization. It's that we've slowly accepted the idea that games made for kids don't have to be good. Somewhere along the way, "it's for kids" stopped being a target audience and started becoming an excuse. An excuse for shallow gameplay, lazy garbage, and games designed to maximize engagement instead of creating memorable experiences. You see this outside of games too. Whenever a movie or show for kids gets criticized, one of the first responses is, "Well, it's for kids." As if that somehow excuses lower standards. But the best family movies are loved by both kids and adults because they're simply well made. They respect their audience instead of talking down to them. Roblox used to feel more like that. Games like Work at a Pizza Place and Natural Disaster Survival weren't perfect, but they were built around fun ideas instead of engagement metrics. Even early simulators like Bubblegum Simulator had a level of charm and respect for their audience before the genre became flooded with trend chasing brainrot games built around AI garbage. The problem isn't that kids have lower standards. It's that adults stopped believing quality products for kids matter. That's the philosophy behind the side project I've been working on @BeeconomyGame. It's made with kids in mind, but I don't want to talk down to them. I want to make something adults can enjoy too. Something built with care instead of optimized to squeeze every dollar out of its audience. Making a game for kids shouldn't mean making a worse game. Kids deserve better from us. They deserve games that respect their intelligence, reward their curiosity, and are made because someone genuinely cared about creating something great. Thanks for your patience! #BEECONOMY

@komickaze I poured 4 years, applied research papers, a press kit, and a marketing outreach plan and was not rewarded. Effort does not equal what you get back. Do what Roblox wants -or, more what their reputation presents them as- or don't get an audience is what I learned.

The players and the platform will thank you with the same money and attention you give to the game you’re building. #roblox

@ahtih @StarshipRobots Transitional help or not, your pivot to the grocery delivery market away from universities alienates your customer base. As a game dev & engineer, I see the challenge you face; your ambition. Yet still. I get why, but why not both?

@EvanZir Nice to know it got fixed. Interesting to see Twitter + Discord communication solved it instead of DevForum. I feel this deincentivizes that space for bigger devs, but maybe that's a good thing. Roblox checking Twitter is good.

.@Roblox you guys gotta fix this Whenever you're trying to submit the questionnaire half way through it you get Network Errors and you have to refresh the page and wait a minute before you can continue or else it won't save any of the things you chose Not to mention that tons of my games are having questionnaires rejected because a new moderator disagrees with the outcome that the previous moderator said when it was rejected the time before

@julien_x @EvanZir @Roblox UX thing but saying the person is answering too quickly would be a nice QOL thing. Feature request ofc, none exist from my checking. I can make one, but I made another reply here asking Evan to cause I thought this was another issue

@WistfulHopes TLDR: You've made lots of mods & tools, more standalone games would be great. Good resume, minor tweaks, don't list as many projects. Say more on githubio pages for projects like your resume does. The industry is tough. 2/2 Longer [unlisted]: youtube.com/watch?v=YJbQiO…
