@DanTalks1 It's just the "exposure to low IQ anti-Semites will turn a man philo-Semitic" quote but applied to MAGA.

@NomadProduct @BasedPota18 Not the same thing. What OP describes is when one person/alien later becomes the model for an entire planet of hats. Eg, Boba Fett, just a regular guy who's a bounty hunter, but later writers took him and created an entire planet of Boba Fetts.

@RedoubtOfThomas @BasedPota18 The name of the trope is sometimes called "A Planet of Hats" where an entire planet takes on exactly one characteristic. After the ST:TOS episode "A Piece of the Action" where an entire planet modeled themselves after 1920s pulp gangster fiction.

It’s funny In Star Wars that typically whenever a member of an alien species first appears in the films, most subsequent media will proceed to portray whatever occupation they had as a major part of their species’ lore and have other members in that job There’s a joke to be made there

@arisroussinos A better example would be Turkish children learning ancient Greek mythology. Turks are both foreign invaders of Anatolia and descended from the Greeks who inhabited Anatolia. A similar situation to modern Britain.

Of course it would be absurd to think that Greek schoolchildren, say, don’t grow up learning the unique and ancient mythology of their culture. The point is that children in Ireland, next door, also do, with an overlapping mythology deriving from the exact same cultural source.
Aris Roussinos@arisroussinos

Everyone in Britain is heir to an extremely complex & ancient Celtic mythological cycle of native gods & heroes, just like Ireland, but set in the country in which they live, yet the British educational system actively ignores it. I doubt 1/10000 children could name a British god

Here are their skin tones in the picture↓ Tom Cruise’s is typical for a Northwestern European, while Nicole Kidman’s is the palest I’ve seen. She must be studied in the interests of eugenic science.

This is what elves looked like btw. The word “elf” comes from Proto-Indo-European *albʰós, which literally meant “white or pale person.”

@CEOofKuberaLeez @moorehn Rather infamously, Bradley Cooper (Italian mother) played a famously Jewish conductor recently. The prosthetic nose was a bit much for critics who accused/joked that he was doing "jewface".

@RedoubtOfThomas @moorehn Hm, now that I think about it, De Niro played at least two jewish characters. The opposite is also true with Jon Bernthal playing Frank Castle. Mediterranean looks

Gatsby has long been taught as a potentially Jewish character. In the book the narrator sees him meeting with Jewish mobsters. It is, in fact, his potential Jewishness that explains both why Daisy will not marry him and why white supremacist eugenics makes an appearance in the book at the dinner party as a verbal assault against him. But the right doesn't take literature classes, so.

Gatsby just got dropped from the reading list at a lot of expensive colleges

@SonofZealandia @TheZeitgeistNZ I like the matryoshka doll imperialism. In old system we were a colony of Britain and had or aspired to colonies of our own. This still could apply. Eg, siding with the US and controlling the Cook Islands. As is, we have no independence from the US and no control of the CI.

@TheZeitgeistNZ "Independent foreign policy" was always a laugh, especially in the pathetic ways successive governments have tried to implement it. I think there's a way to be somewhat autonomous, but it requires the NZ state to wake up to reality & choose it instead of being a sidekick.

For better or for worse New Zealand is being dragged into a US-led security alliance and a more oppositional stance to China - our largest trading partner. We are losing our independent foreign policy. The Chinese have noticed and are calling it out. rnz.co.nz/news/world/590…

@ZooNealand They're standard on OT builds. Oh how we laughed when they needed to get permission to build water tanks close to neighbours' homes because of the fire risk. We won't be laughing when a resident sets one on fire.

So let me get this straight. The guy in charge of counterterrorism efforts in the country (and presumably heavily involved in the Kirk investigation) was basically sabotaging the entire thing by trying to pin it on Israel because he was watching Candace Owens. How is this real
LB@beyondreasdoubt

I really try not to give Tucker or his crazy guests any attention, but Kent made some pretty wild claims about the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s murder and I guarantee he just gave ammo to the defense. At a minimum, I expect a Brady-type motion demanding what investigations were shut down. (These idiots are just that, idiots. I despise them.)
