@lindseylaing @scottishgreens That’s something they can’t control as it’s set by the Rail Delivery Group which works alongside National Rail to bring the railcard.

@scottishgreens Perhaps sorting out the issue that the young persons railcard can't be used before 10 on weekdays while others (eg senior railcard) can would be a good starting point?

@EnbyScot @scottishgreens The greens and SNP worked together. It was a greens thing then the SNP put it into action (as they are the ones in power). The two parties often work together in relation to public transport, with the £2 bus cap trial and free bus for <21 also being a Scottish greens initiative.

It looks ok and all, but we could have had electric trains with higher passenger comfort, it just feels disappointing, especially with the lack of signal you get on the 222s.

@SpeedySticks007 @Hrushworth Aren’t those commuter stock? Not really suitable for intercity. Also you won’t get level boarding when platform heights vary so much along the route. Ideally they’ll get stock that can tilt so they can keep up with the pendolinos - but it’ll come at a price they might not like

@chloerxch @dresserman Traditional scanners handle them really well, the issue is when scanners get dirty and struggle to pick things up - you see this on self checkouts a lot as at best they are cleaned once a day. Codes on phone screens they tend to struggle with the most.

@dresserman honestly, QR codes are famously a nightmare to scan, so I’m not even sure if adding them to the mix actually helps. it usually just ends up being more of a technical headache than it’s worth.

No surprise to anyone that Tesco are first to the 2D barcodes.
