I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City.
Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law.
This blatant pursuit of regime change doesn’t just affect those abroad, it directly impacts New Yorkers, including tens of thousands of Venezuelans who call this city home. My focus is their safety and the safety of every New Yorker, and my administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.

AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett holds the nation's highest policing position, yet she has stunningly failed to acknowledge the clear religious motivations behind the Bondi terrorist attack.
Is she profoundly ignorant, or is she dangerously beholden to political correctness? I do not know.
What I do know is this: failing to confront the root cause of a problem guarantees that the problem will persist indefinitely.
By refusing to name the ideological and religious drivers of this terrorism, Commissioner Barrett is placing our national security at serious risk.
She is not fit for the role and should step down.

The lengths politicians will go to to politicize ANYTHING that benefits them, even if it comes at the cost of our most vulnerable.
