In 2016, Police Scotland took down a Glasgow grooming gang which had 55 suspected members, *all of whom were asylum seekers*, and then kept it secret from the public. Victims were abused by more than 20 men. It was only exposed 4 years later after a Daily Express investigation.

The exception here is interesting. In Germany, there are apparently multinational WhatsApp groups for aspiring immigrant rapists to send each other sightings of potential victims. I am not exaggerating.

I often think about the fathers of the raped girls. The pain and suffering those men must have gone through knowing what was being inflicted on their little girls, but being unable to act. Indescribable. Brainwashed is the word that has come up in our inquiry. The girls were often turned against their own families, their own mothers and fathers. Through gifts, alcohol, drugs and intimidation. A wicked physical and psychological cocktail of abuse, that was devastatingly effective and deployed to the level that a vast amount of coordination was involved. Just imagine it was your child. Any man with a daughter will feel sick just thinking about it. Fathers have spoken about how they themselves were arrested when attempting to rescue their daughters from the rapists. Horrific. Just absolutely horrific. Fathers put through genuine hell. I dread to think of the consequences. We owe it to them all to keep this fight going.
