Poor Trump never gets anything he wants. Except for lower "real" rates that continue to benefit the asset holders. Keep pushing the inflation expectations and ease the monetary policy. Trump and Powell BFF cnbc.com/2026/04/15/tru…

Today I am leaving the Bear Chat. It was a fun journey, riding Bitcoin all the way down from over 100k to 60k. But at this point, it’s becoming harder and harder to remain bearish. So many signs are pointing to the fact that we are far closer to the bottom than to the top.

@MetamateDaz All of those seem to be self imposed choices. Does Putting yourself in that position excuse you spending on items you can’t necessarily afford?

I wish more people understood $4 coffees and avocado toast isn’t the problem. It’s the: – $950 car payment – $300 credit card bill – $2,800 daycare –$800 student loans – $4,400 rent This is why most supposedly well paid job feel like a struggle.

@uneducatedecon1 @MetamateDaz @grok Simon, I absolutely love your work since 2019 and respect your views. But Grok’s answer to your question makes me chuckle because in 50 years, what will that money will actually be worth? Is the current USD will even be around? Can’t we just enjoy that $4 avocado a day? 😬😅

It’s hard to believe the economy could be “neutral” with interest rates this high—but it’s true. It all comes down to inflation expectations. As inflation stays elevated, the neutral rate rises. Even if the Fed holds rates steady, policy becomes less restrictive as the gap between the neutral rate and the fed funds rate shrinks. That means the economy can become less restricted without a single rate cut. Tariffs, wars, and taxes matter—but not as much as expectations. What people believe about the future shapes their behavior today, and that behavior drives the economy. But there’s a cost. As policy becomes less restrictive, inequality grows. Asset holders benefit first from new money and credit, while wage earners fall behind. Stocks rise. Real estate rises. Gold rises. Wages lag. The top 10% of households account for roughly 50% of consumption—a stark reminder of how divided the economy has become. If this is happening in a “restrictive” environment, imagine what an unrestricted economy will bring. #Economics #FederalReserve #Inflation #MonetaryPolicy #Inequality #NeutralRate #MacroEconomics #CTT

@PeterMcCormack If Cantillon can describe it from hundreds of years ago, why do you blame it on design? Everyday we volunteer to use fiat .

Wall Street near all-time highs. Consumers struggling. This is exactly how the system is designed to work. I’ve tried to warn you. Close to the money = you win Live on wages = you lose Now the uncomfortable truth: 1. It’s going to get worse for red liners 2. Your fav politician won’t fix this as it will cost them votes 3. You’ll still vote for them Guess what else that red line is, it’s your entire life - your small business struggling and the public services you rely on. The green line is the corporate high-life, the assets, the private healthcare. Taxing billionaires won’t fix this. They’re mobile and will move + there isn’t enough tax to fill the gap. Anyway, keep voting for this shit. You were warned.

The 'pay us enough to live' is a stupid psyop. The main culprits raising the cost of living are governments and central banks; focus on them, not some company providing products for the masses.

@ReeseCayle @uneducatedecon1 Inflation in the US accelerated last month to its highest rate in nearly two years, as surging oil prices triggered by the US-Israel war in Iran started to spill over into the wider economy. Consumer prices climbed 3.3% over the 12 months to March, picking up from 2.4% in Feb

@PamRyanRyan1 @uneducatedecon1 Raising inflation expectations to stay in line with the neutral interest rate that neither accommodates nor restricts the economy as per the Federal Reserves objectives to maintain their monetary policy.
