@KhalilJeries I agree with your post that it would be great to see similar rallies in cities where Palestinians don’t undergo checkpoints to attend. But you would need permits to get Israelis to Ramallah too and those are likely to be rejected. (Speaking from experience)

Wow, it looks very diverse! I also bet Palestinians are easily granted entry to Tel Aviv for a "peace summit." I have done “grassroots peace” work for years, only to realize it is nothing but a mockery of Palestinian suffering under the occupation.

@KhalilJeries you know I agree there needs to be more diversity in the Tel Avivi peace camp in general, but rallies like this are necessary for Israelis to maintain hope - and without hope, nothing good will ever be possible.

We welcome the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and the opportunity it affords to advance substantive political progress between the two countries. The durability will depend on a strong Lebanese central government that is able to sideline Hezbollah, and more critically on its willingness to act. We hope that this is the start of a process that will bring lasting security to the residents of northern Israel, true sovereignty for Lebanon, and better lives for civilians on both sides.
