When I worked on Crysis 2 (2009), we had Silhouette Parallax Occlusion Mapping (spom). It seems to be a hit with Crimson Desert's great implementation, so I wanted to bring that & a simple SSDM shader to UE4/UE5. I'm still working on it with a GFX engineer. Here's the SPOM *WIP

@MjTheHunter I don't stay up that late, but I'll sometimes stay up an hour later than usual trying to solve something, get nowhere on it, revert my changes and then solve it within 10 mins in the morning just like you said.

I made the classic mistake of staying up until 2 am trying to fix an issue with a shader... Nothing worked. Woke up the next morning, opened up my editor and had it working in 10 minutes... Maybe I'll learn one day

@RemyRylan @thomasbrushdev I got my talking points by 18 years of studying the Bible. What lead me away was simply knowing actual history verses bibles history. There was no exodus, & your entire narrative falls apart on the just the lack of that event. I simply do not believe in supernatural events.

Lots of confusion about what Christianity is at its core. Couple things: human beings are basically purposefully “ungodly” meaning they suck and they hurt other people (all of us), and God owes them nothing. In fact he owes them judgement. But God instead became human and said I’ll take your guilt so you can be with me. You can say “no thanks” and he’ll let you be away from Him, or you can say “Help” and He will, forever. Thats about it. The bad things you do are actually really really really bad, perhaps we just don’t feel that way because everyone does bad things. But in the presence of God the bad you do is eternally, infinitely awful. (This is the sticking point for a lot of folks who feel like they are “decent”). I can only personally speak for myself: I’m not decent, trust me. I know what goes thru my head. I need some kind of “get out of jail free card”. If this sounds psycho I get it. But I also know how often I ask my own wife to forgive me daily haha. Okay so what is God though? God is the entity outside of this dimension, outside of this server. You’re the dish, he’s the cook (so no, the “who made god argument makes no sense, like saying “who cooked the cook”). And billions of people feel him but they argue about what he is. Just cuz people argue about who God is doesn’t mean there’s no God, rather it means for some reason billions of people thru history felt him. Christians say he is singular, is the equivalent of love, and became man.

Last post I’ll make on this because you sound like you get all your talking points from Reddit. You call the universe indifferent because you want a master who doesn’t ask for an account. An eternal universe is a fantasy that ignores entropy, but more importantly, it ignores the conscience you’re using right now to argue against God. Jesus isn't a theory; He’s King. He broke all the old tribal walls to graft anyone who bows to Him into the new chosen people. It isn’t a binary ultimatum of robot vs. void, it’s a choice between rebelling against reality or coming home to the family that actually rules it. Hell isn’t some arbitrary punishment, it’s the logical harvest of your own life. It is the raw presence of absolute separation from God, which by definition means the total absence of every shred of life, truth, peace, and goodness that you enjoy right now.

@thomasbrushdev @RemyRylan Infinite regression is a problem for theists and non theists alike. What’s hard to believe about a perpetually existing universe, the same as god? The Universe is indifferent, doesn’t condemn, doesn’t have a “chosen people” and most importantly doesn’t expect worship. 😬

@Grambitious @thomasbrushdev He designed us with freewill. He wants us to organically love and follow Him. Both true love and true evil can only be born from freewill. Affection from us would be meaningless to God if we were just programmed drones. It would be like us expecting love from a robot.

@MR3Dev @YellowFlashGuy Maybe but humans can’t survive too far away from Earth for a very extended time. The magnetic vortex of our brains are finely tuned to the Earth, just look at the neurological issues recent astronauts have experienced - that’s magnetism related.

However, there are many things about deuterium that I don't fully understand, or understand at all. It slows down ATP synthase. Ok, got it. But depletion?

Eating a carnivore diet helps limit deuterium, but if your mitochondria are sluggish or your redox levels are low, your body loses the power to filter it out, causing that heavy hydrogen to build up in your tissues rather than exiting through your breath. You need consistent sunlight to keep your cellular engines running efficiently enough to actually clear that stress from your organs.

It's called reference 😂I didn't copy anything frame by frame, the posing and timing on Seamus is different. You need to study real life, otherwise your art is unrelatable and can look uncanny

@IvicaMaslaceti @DrJackKruse Carnivore diet is only effectively low-Deuterium if you're getting proper sunlight with Circadian alignment. Otherwise, you're actually pulling Deuterium deep into vital organs.

Well you've done amazing work going at it from scratch! The faces are especially very nice and that's obviously the hardest part to get right. Character customization is a beast. It's definitely taking the longest amount of time in my game as well, but it's so worth it to elevate the quality. This is definitely something I'll only ever do once in my life, I am not building another character builder ever again. If I need one in the future, I'll just build off of what I've already done. Congrats on your game, looking forward to checking it out!

From Scratch, and was the system that easily took us the longest in Luminary to get right haha. I made all the character models first, and then allow you to select and blend between those. So its way more "dumb" than you think of a system, swapping skins, texture sets and models etc, but still took forever haha.

What are your thoughts on new virtual fencing tools where each cow wears a GPS enabled collar? GPS tracks the location, a processor knows where the virtual fence line is (set by the farmer via software), a speaker & electrodes provide cues to the cow (like an electric dog fence). Will definitely cut down on man hours setting up fencing, but 24/7 Bluetooth and EMFs close to the thyroid… 🤔
