The @MTA was right to sue the Trump Administration for withholding funding for the Second Avenue Subway expansion into East Harlem. For years, my colleagues and I led the fight to secure the federal approvals and funding support for the critical Q line extension to 125th street, which had been stalled for decades. The @WHOMB decision to freeze the funds is yet another illegal action taken by this rogue regime – one that has thrust uncertainty and inconvenience to 100,000 daily commuters and threatened tens of thousands of dignified, high paying, local union jobs. I am confident that our efforts to unlock this funding, which was advanced with bipartisan support, will yield a similar result to the Gateway case: a win for New Yorkers – and a loss for the Trump Administration.
