“We hold these truths to be self-evident..."
Those words have inspired generations of Americans to build, explore, innovate, and defend the blessings of liberty. As we celebrate our nation's 250th year, I'm proud that Alaska continues to embody the enduring spirit of freedom and opportunity.
Happy Fourth of July, and may God bless the United States of America.

This week, I joined the House Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee for a hearing to examine how the U.S. Coast Guard is implementing the reforms and investments Congress has authorized through the Coast Guard Authorization Acts of 2022 and 2025, as well as through reconciliation
The @USCG is one of our nation's most indispensable services and plays a vital role in Alaska. Our state has more coastline than the rest of the United States combined, increasing vessel traffic, world-class fisheries, and expanding Arctic activity.
As the Coast Guard advances Force Design 2028, it is essential that modernization efforts translate into measurable improvements in operational capability and safety for our servicemembers.

Quantum technology is shaping tomorrow, and today the Western Caucus and @Halliburton had the privilege of hosting a briefing on what lies ahead. Today's science fiction is tomorrow's quantum reality. Ready for the future?

At this week's hearing, @RepNickBegich asked how many of DOJ's more than $52 million in cybersecurity-related False Claims Act recoveries in FY2025 stemmed from whistleblower allegations versus proactive government investigations.
DOJ responded that many of those recoveries originated from whistleblower-initiated cases and explained how whistleblower reports help inform enforcement efforts.

Today, @NatResources advanced the Great American Outdoors Act 250, bipartisan legislation to modernize and maintain America's national parks and recreation infrastructure.
Alaska is home to some of the world's most iconic public lands, and investing in infrastructure and maintenance is critical to preserving access and ensuring responsible stewardship.
As a proud cosponsor of this legislation, I'm pleased to support this effort to address maintenance backlogs and help ensure our public lands remain accessible for future generations of Americans.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the XPRIZE Wildfire competition at Nenana Airport alongside Cathy Cahill, Director of the Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration. It was impressive to see firsthand how innovators are developing autonomous technologies that can detect and respond to wildfires faster than ever before.
As Alaska faces increasingly challenging wildfire seasons, early detection and rapid response can mean the difference between a small ignition and a devastating fire that threatens critical infrastructure, and natural resources. The recent wildfire activity near Anderson and Clear Space Force Station highlights exactly why these innovations matter.
Investing in cutting-edge technology, strengthening our wildfire preparedness, and improving forest management must remain national priorities.
That is why I am proud to co-sponsor the Fix Our Forests Act and support the work of the House Natural Resources Committee, which has made wildfire prevention and forest resilience a key priority this Congress. By combining responsible forest management with emerging technologies, we can reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires and better support our first responders.
Thank you to the teams competing in Alaska, Cathy Cahill and her team, and everyone working to advance solutions that will help keep Alaskans safe.

Nunamiut families spent decades asking the government to listen. Thanks to @POTUS, this administration did.

Today Alaskans celebrate Don Young Day and honor a true Alaska legend.
For 49 years, Congressman Don Young fought for Alaska in Washington. He used every committee chairmanship, every relationship, and every opportunity to make the case for Alaska.
“North to the Future” was more than a motto to Congressman Young, it was a guiding principle. Don Young fought hard to develop our state, grow our resource base, and protect what makes Alaska so special; and it is that same spirit of optimism and opportunity that my team and I endeavor to continue as we work in the Congress on behalf of all Alaska.

H.R. 41 has officially passed the House!
After 11 separate congressional introductions over 22 years and after over 50 years of advocacy from these communities, we have finally passed this important legislation out of the United States House!
Proud to advance legislation that honors existing agreements under ANCSA and provides a pathway for future economic development and self-determination for Alaska Native families in Haines, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Tenakee, and Wrangell.

This administration listens to the voices of the communities we serve.
@Interior restored ORV access for subsistence hunting in Gates of the Arctic National Park, answering decades of calls from Nunamiut people. No one cares for the land more than those who depend on it.

Today, I had the privilege of joining fellow Alaskans in honoring the service members who never made it home. At the Anchorage Remembers Memorial Day Ceremony and the Veteran’s Wall of Honor in the Mat-Su Valley, we remembered the extraordinary sacrifice of America’s fallen heroes and the families they left behind.
