Back at Drone Town, bit of a sad one for me this time, as they say farewell to BQN, and heading for a LONG trip to be relocated to Roosevelt Roads. I will miss seeing them reapers, but i can’t deny the fun i had getting to spot them. Guess we’ll have to wait to see what’s next!

Amazing. Lost two C-130s to save one guy who was only there because his F-15 got knocked out of the skies (which resulted in downed/damaged Blackhawk helicopters and a downed A-10. Incredulous amount of hardware lost in this fiasco and the U.S. is calling it a win somehow.
Amerikanets 📉@ripplebrain

Could also be this, which Jack Murphy alluded to, though he only mentioned one destroyed C-130 (NYT):

In addition to the 2 U.S. Air Force MC-130J “Commando II” Special Operations Aircraft, wreckage appears to suggest that at least 2 MH-6M Little Birds with the U.S. Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160th SOAR) were also destroyed at the forward operating base utilized during last night’s operation in Southern Iran.

Photos show the charred remains of 2 U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules at the site of a temporary forward operations base in Southern Iran that was utilized during last night’s operation by U.S. Special Forces, with the aircraft being destroyed to prevent their falling into enemy hands, following the extraction of U.S. Forces.

They switched from stand-off munitions to closer range stuff. A bunch of aircraft were hit. Now they're dipping into what is left of stand-off capacity. It's really starting to feel like America's last rodeo at this point. 🇺🇸🇮🇷

The US is deploying most of its long-range JASSM-ER stealth missiles for the Iran war, pulling them from global stockpiles. Only about 425 remain available worldwide out of 2,300 prewar. These missiles have been heavily used—over 1,000 in the first month—reducing reserves meant for other conflicts. Replacing them could take years. Source: Bloomberg

It's pretty obvious that Chinese armed forces have gone all in on heliborne assault. CCTV7, Junshi Baodao, 3 Apr. In my attrition models from my "Target Taiwan" series of late 2025, I assess that China would lose hundreds of airframes, but also largely succeed in landing tens of thousands of elite soldiers behind Taiwan's coastal defenses. Maybe Taiwan can dream up some ways to stop heliborne assault. Give every Nainai (grandma) a Stinger perhaps? Or try stringing wires over every soccer pitch and golf course? Thing is that it's not Kharg Island. Taiwan is relatively large, so there will inevitably be gaps in the defense.

Now i see why the CIA spends billions on making sure most countries don’t develop to the degree Iran is. The invincible US air force is actually pretty touchable when going against competent defenses that they couldn’t just buy off

BREAKING: Good news for Stratotanker lovers. Following the loss of multiple KC-135Rs to surface-to-air and ballistic missiles of the IRGC in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Air Force is reactivating a number of retired and stored KC-135Rs from the 309th AMARG at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. The first of them, 58-0011, has been restored from storage and was flown to Tinker Air Force Base yesterday to be overhauled and returned to service. This aircraft is a refuelable Stratotanker, similar to the one that was lost in Iraq to a surface-to-air missile launched by IRGC-backed Iraqi proxies. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar

Newsmax’s Carla Babb states that she can now confirm a U.S. Air Force UH-60 Black Hawk was struck by Iran during ongoing search-and-rescue operation for the downed crew of an F-15E Strike Eagle. The helicopter’s crew is accounted for and is safe, having since exited Iran via Iraq.

China successfully launched the Lijian-2 Y1 carrier rocket on its maiden flight, marking a key milestone in the nation’s rapidly advancing commercial space sector. The rocket carried a Qingzhou cargo spacecraft test vehicle along with multiple satellites and experimental payloads into orbit. This mission demonstrates China’s growing capability in cost-effective, medium-lift launch systems designed for frequent commercial use. It also supports future resupply missions for the Tiangong space station and advances in-orbit technology testing. The success highlights the role of institutions like the Chinese Academy of Sciences in driving innovation in aerospace. Overall, the launch reflects China’s broader ambition to strengthen its position as a global leader in space exploration and infrastructure. #ChinaSpace #Lijian2 #MadeInChina #SpaceInnovation #Tiangong #ChinaTech #AerospaceChina #CAS #SpaceLaunch #ChinaDevelopment

If this is China, and Xi removed 3 Generals at one time from their positions - what would be the headlines in the WSJ? - "Xi Jinping Strips Three Generals From Politburo in Escalating Bid for Total Military Control" - "China's Xi Purges Key Generals From Elite Politburo Ranks, Leaving Leadership Vacuum at the Top" These would likely be accompanied by analysis pieces framing the move as part of Xi's pattern of "disappearing" elites, comparing it to historical purges under Mao or Stalin, and questioning the impact on PLA readiness, nuclear forces, or invasion plans for Taiwan—often portraying it as a sign of weakness or instability rather than decisive leadership. So no adverse analysis of Hegseth firing 3 Generals in Western media and how the Iran War is going badly with (hidden and rising) body counts for US soldiers?

The amount of angry replies and denials to this post is laughable - people seem to think that the US doesn't lose aircraft in war! Well here's a reality check folks - not including UAVs this is at least the 10th aircraft lost since Operation EPIC FURY began on 28th Feb 2026.

This does appear to be remains of a F-15E "Strike Eagle" from 494th Fighter Squadron "LN" normally based at RAF Lakenheath in the UK. Hoping the 2 crew are ok... 😟

Iranian state-run media has posted several images of wreckage from an American fighter jet that was allegedly downed today over Iran, with the images appearing to show the rear stabilizer and other parts of an F-15E Strike Eagle with U.S. Air Force’s 494th Fighter Squadron (494th FS), based out of RAF Lakenheath, which was deployed in recent months to the Middle East in the buildup to Operation Epic Fury.
