When communities lead, forests recover. Restoration is justice, resilience, & smart investment in our shared future. The real power to heal our land lies with the people who live with them, care for them, & defend them every day. #RestoreLocal #ClimateAction #CommunityLeadership

🌱High-quality land restoration doesn’t come from manuals alone. It grows through experience, mentoring, and shared problem-solving in the field. That’s why #RestoreLocal is supporting a peer-to-peer learning exchange in the Lake Kivu & Rusizi landscape.

🚀 DINOv3 was the breakthrough. Now it is powering a major data upgrade. Version 2 of our Global Tree Canopy Height map integrates Meta’s open-source DINOv3 AI model, improving canopy height mapping across forest types and geographies while reducing bias in tall and complex forests. The result is a clearer view of forest canopy at scale, strengthening how this data supports restoration monitoring, carbon estimation and biodiversity analysis. Developed with AI at Meta and supported by the @BezosEarthFund. Learn more: go.wri.org/4m4pHH Read the pre-print: go.wri.org/CgWEi5
