31/ OK, those are the "basic" MAGA acct rules. There is also a temporary seed program of sorts, dubbed the "MAGA Accounts Contribution Pilot Program." Basically, if you have a kid sometime between 2025 and 2028, Uncle Sam will make a $1k contribution to your kids' MAGA acct. Notably, I don't see any income limits or phaseouts associated with this provision🤔

1/ 🚨NEW Breaking Tax News🚨 After releasing 29 pages of prop legislation Friday, the House Ways and Means Committee just dropped another 350+ pages of prop legislation. Today's text is a LOT more intriguing than Friday's release. Follow along as I break it down, live...

@MeasureTwiceMNY Yes, cody, I'm aware of the construction. That does not change that they are 99% correlated, which semantically meets the IRS definition of 'substantially identical'.

I just sold over $100,000 of VTI, realizing a capital loss of ~$8,500. I immediately used those funds to buy the same amount of VOO, effectively remaining invested in the stock market without triggering a wash sale. This is referred to as "Tax Loss Harvesting." *Just an example, not a recommendation for you.* Here's how I did it at Fidelity:

@126613LBSUB @AdviserCounsel I guess it depends. Some are worth it, some absolutely aren't. I know a few advisors that are retired, they just never bothered to tell their clients.

The wealth management business is relatively straightforward. There are 3 things that really matter. 1. Client acquisition 2. Client retention 3. Rendering of competent financial advice Everything else is mostly noise.

How funny would it be if the Gophers bent to the will of one segment of their fanbase, fired Bob Motzko, and then hired Brad Berry while North Dakota turned around hired Motzko

Fake guru snake oil finfluencer makes ridiculous claim that his real estate investments have average annual 60% ROI, “75 times more than your 401k.”

Sioux Fans I know it’s not the Final Five. Trust me I miss it too. The team needs us. Last year at the X. Get off your wallet, find a babysitter, bring the kids, book the hotel room, stay at a friends, I don’t care, get your ass to the X tomorrow night. One last time.

@TKopelman I had a client this week say he learned more about taxes in an hour with me than a decade with his previous advisor. I wanted to feel proud, but I mostly felt sad at the state of our industry.

Some days I feel like I know so little Then I sit down with a CPA of a complex client and get told that they don't work with any other advisors who go this deep on strategy It's easy to forget what most people's baseline is as you keep learning

@MeasureTwiceMNY I see CPAs on Twitter encouraging each other to charge more. Are they also insecure? Advisors need a healthy profit margin. If we have a prolonged recession and/or market downturn, we will see advisors go out of business, regardless of fee style.

When financial advisors encourage others to increase their fees: I wonder if this (ironically) comes from a place of believing they are overcharging for their own services and struggling with their own “value.” If you encourage another advisor to increase their fees, how much are you doing it for them vs. for yourself?
