We thank him for his service, to Elaine and the Hatch family for sustaining him all these years, and the great people of Utah for making the right choice on an outsider from Pittsburgh so many years ago. A very fond and loving farewell.

To his staff, colleagues, friends, and even perfect strangers, he was family. He served and cared for everyone like they were his own. He dedicated his life to service in the belief that the worth of every soul is great in the sight of God.

The first time I met Sen. Hatch, it was at a fundraising luncheon he was hosting for my boss, first-term Sen. McConnell. I was a junior staffer, but Hatch made a point of introducing himself to me, seating me at the table and noting my presence to the group. I never forgot it. 🙏

Sen. Hatch once told me that comity was the cartilage that made the Senate function. @senorrinhatch thank you for your guidance, kindness and friendship. And to Elaine - thank you for sharing Orrin with the nation.

Orrin Hatch was a great mentor and an even better friend. He devoted his life to serving Utahns, and will be missed dearly. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Senator Orrin Hatch. He was a dedicated public servant who spent more than 40 years bettering the lives of people in Utah and across the country. Mikey and I are keeping his loved ones in our prayers.

Everyone in DC has an @OrrinHatch story… here’s my favorite… After we had our first baby, we brought her by the @NRSC where my wife was working. Senator Hatch came out of his way to see her, & said, “when you have 1 that beautiful, you need to have 8 or 9 more.”
