@herculezg if i were the coach, he would be off at half. i knew it would bite them. England have always been mentally weak. that 2nd goal would have deflated England. instead they go to the other end and score.

Norway's manager Solbakken has been heavily criticized for playing Sørloth as a winger, but this has nothing to do with positional play. Took an eternity and squandered a golden opportunity. #Norway

@herculezg that game came down to the players mentality. they did not come out fighting for whatever reason, as shown by the 1st minute shot on target. that weak mentality of complacency came from GGG. something Poch talked about many times. give him a full cycle with the next gen.

I don’t believe an 18-1-12 record while flaming out in spectacular fashion in front of 40M merits enough to extend, but 'indefensible' is too strong. That said, I respect that Doug has an opinion and provides arguments for it. Too many don’t.
Doug McIntyre@ByDougMcIntyre

Landing Mauricio Pochettino to lead the #USMNT was a triumph. Rehiring the coach who oversaw the most humiliating World Cup loss in program history would be indefensible. ⁦@FOXSoccer⁩: foxsports.com/stories/soccer…

@jbaraldi11 @JKasten187 @_davidskerr 2/2 MLS teams get first dibs on players in their area. despite not doing anything to develop them. its not an open market where you can make the best decision for your kid, if they are talented enough to be wanted by multiple clubs.

@JKasten187 @_davidskerr Correct for the most part, but that's not the way things are done here (not saying right or wrong) and things aren't going to change for a sport that falls somewhere between 2nd-7th in the pecking order depending on where in the US you live.

@jbaraldi11 @JKasten187 @_davidskerr in Europe, the pro teams pay for the academy's and coaches. they are free to everyone. so the coaches are getting paid. In America, coaches have to get paid from somewhere. that costs falls on local teams and parents. even worse.......1/2

@ByDougMcIntyre @FOXSoccer did he tell the players not to press? not to fight? to lose every 50/50 ball? every second ball? if he wants to stay, keep him. this teams mentality was set by GGG for years. Poch got 18 months. give him the next gen and set the standards and mentality. watch him cook.

@OpinionsUsmnt 32 year old mckennie that already struggles with fitness. not injury, fitness. when you hit your 30s, it becomes harder to keep the weight off. then again at 40. your body doesnt burn fat at the same level. he wont be on this team unless he checks his diet now and training

this kind of "kid gloves" approach to players is why they played scared and weak against Belgium. why we got spanked in a home world cup. none of those players had mental strength to fight when times got hard.

We've taken the Pulisic slander too far. I've sat down with him several times, and yes, he can be a tough interview & you can say he's as boring as watching paint dry. I know we all want for him to be this amazing vocal leader Captain America B.S., but it is what it is (1/2)

@JohnnyYumaReb @MicheleG3 @CarliLloyd she has won multiple world cups. golden boots and mvp performances in the world cup. the issue is the mentality. the older generation would run through a wall in that game. winner do. people who truly care would never allow a "sprained ankle" to keep them out of that game.

@MicheleG3 Amen. @CarliLloyd is a fucking moron for lashing out like that. Total scum behavior. And that goes for some of the alumni and others dragging him over the interview answer. You’re a coward @CarliLloyd

@MicheleG3 coming out because of a twisted ankle in a home world cup, in the biggest game in our history. thats the issue. his lack of fight and leadership is the issue. his reaction to losing that game, is the issue. he brushed it off like he didnt care. thats the issue.

He was asked SPECIFICALLY about the injury. So we decided to use the clip & take the criticism to places it should never go. If you are in the media, I am, critique on field play all you want, I do. What I've seen by taking that clip to massacre him, it's shameful. Do better.

@_davidskerr as easy as it is to criticize the system and why development isnt at the level of other nations. it is also easy to say "blatant misinformation being spread" and not back up your statement. my niece plays soccer and is $3000+ without gear, and travel costs. how is that no a issue

There’s a lot of frustration amongst the general population with the loss Monday, but it’s just as frustrating to see the blatant misinformation being spread about youth soccer in the country. Easily 95% of the posts I am seeing are objectively false

@anyotherleader1 the kids that just grab the ball and play on the street will never get scouted. if you want your kids to get scouted by a pro team or academy team, they have to be on a club and get scouted at national tournaments

@Laniyakeen @DaBearJohnson @doldanmat Halland is one of the greatest strikers to ever and will probably be top 5 all time. i think size and speed for centerbacks and strikers are a big advantage. wingers need explosive acceleration and agility. 10s are better with low center of gravity and technical ability

@MLShater no. we need to stop with the narrative that the team is any one persons team. he can earn it with everyone else. hopefully we have enough talent coming up that he will have to earn it. club form should matter. he needs to get his head back in the game and improve drastically.

@blueyank4life @USMNTCollector @CarliLloyd @ObstructedView everything you stated is why people are mad at the response he gave. it had a feel of "oh well" to it. many people have commented on it. not just alexi and lloyd. we just lost at home. not just lost but demolished. the effort on the field looked terrible.

@USMNT Please help our sport by implementing a national training program. And do it for free or very minimal cost. These clubs are almost all money grabs that are run by unqualified DOC's and coaches. Do it for your country. More importantly, do it for the kids.

@FOXSports USA treated the knockout rounds like a charity event. Meanwhile, the Belgian coach took advantage of our charitable treatment towards players and put in some killers. Firing the original coach was the worst mistake US soccer made.

@KylePagan_ the worlds investment has never matched americas. only a handful of national teams actually invested in the womens game. they competed with us. now the rest of the world is catching up and it shows. as for the last WC. we didnt transition away from our older players. it burned us

Seeing a lot of "youth soccer is expensive and that's why the US got pantsed yesterday" takes. Girl's soccer is just as expensive and they've won 2/3 Cups. Ice hockey is more expensive and we just took both golds in the Olympics. Affordability issue is real but it will always be about TalentID in my opinion.
