It is surprising to see some Christians aligning with Donald Trump in opposition to their spiritual leader, Pope Leo. It shouldn’t be so. 🫢

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black! We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle. Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

Why Elon Musk is RIGHT to fight South Africa’s racist rules blocking Starlink? Imagine this: Long ago, South Africa had very unfair laws called apartheid. They treated Black people badly and kept them from good jobs and money. When those bad laws ended, the country made new rules (called B-BBEE) to help Black people get a fair share of business. The idea was good – like a big helping hand. But now? For companies like Starlink to sell fast internet, they MUST give away 30% of their business to Black partners. Just because of skin color. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. He left as a teen to chase big dreams. Today, his company SpaceX wants to bring Starlink – super fast satellite internet – to South Africa. But the rules say no unless they give up part of the company. Elon said it right: “Starlink is not allowed because I’m not Black.” SpaceX promised to spend about $30 million (that’s 500 million rand!) to give FREE high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools. That helps over 2.4 MILLION kids every year learn better, get jobs later, and have a brighter future. Real help for the people who need it most! Starlink already works in about 24 other African countries. Villages there now have internet for school, doctors, and business. South Africa’s villages are missing out because of these racist rules. Elon isn’t asking for special favors. He just wants fair play so Starlink can connect everyone fast. Internet = education, jobs, hope. Why hold back millions of kids over rules that pick by race and color?

@osloAMINGO @RexMalaki @BelloGaladanchi They even call it "Trade wars". They slam tariffs on other countries just to give (undue) advantage to their domestic coys. The 'free trade' is hoax. It is only free when it benefits them to evacuate your mineral resources. They pack your best brains for free.

Water up to their waist, rifles held high, while enemies watch in the bush. Many abuse them online, while our soldiers move through dangers for Nigeria. If they ever leave the frontline, we won’t be able to sleep in our houses. Support our troops.

@RexMalaki @BelloGaladanchi The world bank should go ahead and convince the international competitors to build the refineries in Nigeria so as to create the international trade and competition you are talking about!

Nigerians smile as FG reduces import tariffs on cars, palm oil, and sugar under new 2026 fiscal policy measures The federal government has approved the implementation of its 2026 fiscal policy measures, introducing wide ranging tariff cuts aimed at boosting key sectors of the economy. In a circular dated April 1, 2026 and signed by Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, the government said the new policy replaces the 2023 framework. Central to the reforms is a national list of 127 tariff lines with reduced import duties designed to stimulate growth. Under the new regime, the import adjustment tax on crude palm oil is set at an effective rate of 28.75 percent, lower than previous rates. Tariffs on fully built passenger vehicles, including four wheel drives and station wagons, have also dropped to 40 percent from 70 percent under the 2015 policy. Importers who opened Form M before April 1 have been granted a 90 day grace period to clear goods at the old rates. Meanwhile, a new excise duty regime and green tax surcharge will take effect from July 1, 2026. Several essential goods saw notable reductions. Rice imported in bulk now attracts a 47.5 percent duty, down from 70 percent, while broken rice is pegged at 30 percent. Raw sugar tariffs range between 55 and 57.5 percent, also reduced from 70 percent. Refined salt is now 55 percent, while crude palm oil stands at 28.75 percent. Industrial inputs and construction materials also recorded cuts. Tariffs on ceramic tiles now range between 35 and 46.25 percent, while steel products such as zinc coated sheets, rods and hot rolled bars are mostly set at 35 percent. Cold rolled steel with low carbon content is pegged at 15 percent. In a push to support manufacturing and infrastructure, duties on agricultural and industrial machinery, cargo ships, railway locomotives and breathing equipment have been reduced to zero. Vehicles below 2000cc, mass transit buses, electric vehicles and locally manufactured vehicle components are excluded from the green tax surcharge, signaling a shift toward cleaner transport and local production.
