Idk if it’s just our neighbours but they see one #rat and call the council to put poison out.
It’s RIDICULOUS - one rat is not a problem they live everywhere. Just as common as birds. When people see a bird, they don’t freak out and try and kill it.
Stop killing nature.

@domdyer70 My ex got jealous of a puppy…. A PUPPY?! Safe to say that fragile ego was a big ick 😅

The recovery of majestic humpback whales from near extinction after industrial whaling to near abundance today is a marvellous thing. It can be done! We can live in a world full of wildlife if we choose it.

Fantastic to see all the footage & images of humpback whales around the UK coastline this week. 🐋💙🌊🤙

@johndmcck Feel like a lot of people are running on empty with end of year work, but maybe that’s increasing stress levels!
English

@RhianMinter I've noticed this as well. It may be partly to do with the time of year, but I think it may also be a combination of environmental, economic, and political issues
English

@GlavenEel Oh it’s so good to hear someone making the effort to be nice! I think a lot of people forget themselves when the weather goes a bit cold and grey!

The thing is @AngelaRayner, people need nature. We ARE nature.
And it's perfectly possible to create homes for people while saving homes for wildlife, including newts (who are, we might add, a vital part of wetland life).

@george_hoppit Oh no I think I had a similar experience at a level too 😫
English

@RhianMinter I did A level biology. We had half a lesson on ecology, and the other half was on conservation 😅😅

What I would’ve done to do this GCSE at school instead I was forced to pick subjects “close” to what I needed for my career in conservation.
This GCSE will be a game changer in inspiring the next generation! Let’s not let it drop off.

IMPORTANT The campaign for a GCSE in Natural History has stalled. Labour see it as a "Conservative initiative" and won't progress it. It is not a political football, every child has the right to learn about the wonder of the natural world. Plse ask you MP to lobby for it now. 🙏

@george_hoppit The closest I could get at school was the sciences (which barely covered any environmental elements) and geography 😅 think I learnt more about nature in geography but it was still mostly tectonic plates 😫
English

@RhianMinter Same, I really hope the options in school start reflecting the conversation and climate crisis. And not treating them as marginal issues, as was the case when I was at school
