This nurse just told every White person alive today they’re “just as guilty” of slavery because of “generational wealth generated by Black people.” Even if you weren’t born yet. Even if your family never owned anyone. Even if your grandparents came here after 1865 with nothing. Newsflash right back: Guilt isn’t hereditary. Neither is wealth. Most White Americans’ “generational wealth” is a house their parents bought in the 80s/90s with a 30-year mortgage and overtime. Not a plantation. If we’re assigning group guilt for history, the list gets real long, real fast… and it doesn’t stop at one group. Stop demanding people atone for things they never did. Start reflecting on your own people who initiated, sustained and maintained it. It’s not justice. It’s just racial grievance cosplay. I doubt any white person is safe in her care.

Use the N-word in Minnesota - 4 day trial, 9 hour deliberation, and 1 guilty verdict out of 2 counts. But a Somali immigrant rapes an underage foster care runaway though in the same state? "Dismissed in the interest of justice" -despite the girls glasses found in their car, a sexual trauma evaluation at the hospital, and her towel found at their house. The two cases are directly linked. The latter is the "victim" in the former, by the way. So in Minnesota, you can rape a minor and have your cased dismissed and then get called the N-word and have that person convicted. All while fundraising $340,000 thanks to the help of the NAACP and others.

Seems to me, a story that has a flesh-hungry rock-dwelling sea monster, a giant cyclops, a witch who turns humans into pigs and birds, and zombies that rise from the ground, is not much about biology at all.

@neiltyson you claim to be a scientist yet are willing to go along with the rejection of biological science portrayed by the actor in the film, you’re no scientist you’re a propagandist for the DUMOCRATS

Before you get out your torches and pitchforks: she was charged with three misdemeanor counts but was acquitted of two, so it’s a single misdemeanor. She was cleared of what she said to the kid, and charged with disorderly conduct on the camera man. Disorderly conduct is, roughly, : A person who recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally: (1) engages in fighting or in tumultuous conduct; (2) makes unreasonable noise and continues to do so after being asked to stop; or (3) disrupts a lawful assembly of persons; commits disorderly conduct. . . “Tumultuous conduct” is the catch. Arguably the jury thinks her conduct could have resulted in a fight. This is plausible in some ways because racial slurs often start fights, yet also implausible because a woman holding a child is unlikely to want physical violence. Yes, this is likely a bit too strict a definition of “tumultuous conduct”, but let’s not make this woman a martyr, either. You shouldn’t yell the n word at black people, nor should blacks use the term. It’s gross and insulting behavior. You can express anger without making it racial. Yes, I think the jury overreacted, yet Shiloh was also responsible for her words and actions, and she did not respond in a civil manner. This isn’t an open and shut case. This may be overturned on appeal. Yet it’s also possible to see how the broad definition of “disorderly conduct” can convict someone, and be applied without a set standard. Hate the game.

There are millions of people in this country who sincerely believe that, if you’re white, simply uttering the word “nigger” (in ANY context), justifies extraordinary violence against you. This is a racial double standard that will not continue in America. You don’t get to assault somebody because they said a word that hurts your feelings.

@haymes_joshua Just a simple question. Why is that the only slur some of you want to use? Where are the videos of people using slurs for other races of people? Why must THIS ONE slur be allowed to be used by EVERYONE? Lastly, freedom of speech still exists but not freedom of consequence.

@haymes_joshua If he was a "friend" the worst he could have done was to bitch slap him instead of knocking him out cold. But now they all know he wasn't a friend... they invited a pitbull dog in their house and they thought it was their friend...

Just because someone isnt "allowed" to hit you, doesnt mean they wont. Just because you're legally allowed to use racial slurs, doesn't mean you should. So if you want to be disrespectful, knowing what the possible outcomes could be and you choose to behave that way anyway... then FAFO. Take some responsibility for the predicament that you placed yourself into. Its pretty easy to police your own language, its potentially painful to have someone else do it for you.

@OminousMoment Yes. In this case, they felt her mean words could have incited violence. That’s not an utterly implausible conclusion, even if it didn’t happen. I don’t think 90 days is jail is appropriate. But that’s the catch all with incitement, as it’s not easy to define.
