@Dublinmarti @IrishTimes Hi, local here. Absolutely do not agree. Hutch, Steenson, the Aountu guy and the rest of them can kindly go get lost. And the people in those "protests" were absolutely racist, not that many of them were local. If you don't like that, you can go get lost too.

@amandaregan2024 Defamatory means it's not true 🙄. He insinuated Ennis was linked to ipas as he was a company director of a company & carol O'Dwyer was also on the board of that company as well as ipas companies. O'Dwyer is a professional director. That's her service. Beacon secretarial services

The introduction of ‘Grace’s Law’ is not having any affect on Dublin’s Sean MacDermott Street.Introduced in response to the tragic death of Grace Lynch who was killed by a scrambler. In recent weeks the street has probably become the most lawless in the country

Dublin's Citywest called 'exemplary` asylum site before unrest - ✍️Ken Foxe Consultants described the site as a stable and secure environment months before violent clashes outside the complex The Project Echo document by consultants KPMG said the centre in Dublin had “notably” avoided the protests and unrest that were seen at other International Protection Accommodation Services centres. The business case also highlighted potential for a large expansion of asylum seeker accommodation at Citywest despite public assurances that capacity would not increase. It said the controversial purchase would allow for extensive reconfiguration of the former hotel to provide extra space. #Citywest thetimes.com/article/b5da7d…

Tommy Robinson Unite the Kingdom. It was a matter of time before the Islamophobia would start. It’s sickening behaviour. As Muslims, we shouldn’t have to tolerate this in our home…… England.

Dublin Central By-Election Heats Up as Steenson Takes on RTE in Fiery Radio Appearance With polling day just one week away on May 22, the race for the Dublin Central by-election seat has intensified. Independent Dublin City Councillor Malachy Steenson used a fresh RTE Radio 1 interview to double down on his anti-establishment stance. Steenson, who posted a clip of the interview on X this morning, accused the state broadcaster of using taxpayers’ money to push the government’s narrative. He declared himself the only candidate willing to confront them directly. In the segment, Steenson agreed with former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's now controversial, but largely well received comments on immigration and the need for tighter controls. Steenson framed RTE as part of a system that fails ordinary Irish citizens on housing, immigration, and public services. Steenson frames this as “RTE is funded from YOUR pocket to push the State’s narrative,” as proof of his willingness to challenge mainstream media. Steenson, a practising solicitor and councillor for the North Inner City since 2024, has built his campaign around “Ireland first” policies. These include an immediate halt to further immigration until the housing and health crises are resolved, tougher action on crime and anti-social behaviour, and opposition to recent rent and property tax hikes. He claims even establishment parties are now adopting positions he has championed since 2022. Recent polling places him in contention in a crowded field that includes Sinn Féin, Fianna Fáil, and high-profile independent Gerry Hutch. Steenson’s consistent council record, voting against property tax increases and rent hikes, and his grassroots canvassing in areas like Cabra are key strengths. Born in the early 1960s into a republican family, his journey from the Workers’ Party to independent nationalist politics has made him a polarising but outspoken figure. With one week remaining, Steenson’s RTE appearance is being hailed by supporters as a standout moment. Whether it delivers enough votes and transfers in the PR-STV system will be decided on May 22.

SOCIAL Democrats councillor Daniel Ennis insists he was not aware of the fraudulent activities of the tax-dodging discount store where he worked for seven years. @TheNewsHughes 'If you're asking me if I condone or had any knowledge of Mr Walsh's criminal activity, absolutely not. I have spent most of my adult life trying to find avenues for young people in my area out of crime.' 'Everything I have done in my life - all of the jobs I have had community work I have done and people I have met - have led me to this point, where I am contesting a by-election in Dublin Central, his statement read. #DCBYE

👏👏 How brilliant is @GillSherratt23 here at the #SFAF26 this afternoon. Harvey Morrison,[RIP] who suffered from scoliosis, died on July 29 last year. He was only 9-years-old. He spent years on a waiting list, his spinal curve caused his rib cage to twist around his lungs and heart, severely restricting his breathing. #JusticeforHarvey #RIP #scoliosis #BackUs
