especially on rural back roads, where every attempt to avoid a massive pot hole, debris on the road, animal or animal carcass will see you scalded with stupidly loud "Lane departure warning!!" or " forward collision warning" when no reason exists for the warning. @Tesla.

Great news that National Anti Corruption Commission will be called to public account for its masterful work in covering up all #corruption in Parliament & Government. Its appalling absence of action on #Robedebt is one of most blatant political disgraces of my lifetime.

Very happy to report the Senate has just supported the Greens move to force Commissioner Brereton and the Deputy NACC Commissioners to appear at the upcoming Senate Estimates hearings - accountability has to include everyone at the NACC even at the top!

@timecaptales Incorrect. All items were individually priced. This caused uproar when removing the price was suggested.

Before barcodes were introduced in the 1970s, supermarket cashiers had to memorize thousands of product prices or manually type them into the register. In the 1960s, being a checkout clerk required incredible memory and speed.

Electric vehicle uptake has spread much, much further than you'd think. This is a goEV site, for logistics heavyweight Linfox, 2.3MW total, 16 chargers. I think I'll start highlighting these cases every day, would that interest you? 📌 Laverton North (Melbourne), Australia.

@NormanHermant @metrotrains @metrotunnelvic I'm currently in London and travelling on tube. With delays, this makes sardines look like they have all the space in the world. Nothing like a trip overseas to show how lucky we are in Aus !

Well this is not good. The @metrotrains train is here. But appears to be mysteriously stopped. We’ve been told this HCMT has a ‘defect’ and has to move before trains behind can move through @metrotunnelvic and carry us home. Delay wasn’t too bad - but curious re cause.

The Sting@TheStingisBack

All the President’s Men turns 50 today. This famous “six‑minute shot” is a masterclass in phone acting and pure technical nerve. Director Alan J. Pakula and cinematographer Gordon Willis pull off a single, unbroken slow zoom: from a wide, humming newsroom to a tight close-up on Redford. No cuts. No safety net. Tension builds in real time. Redford carries it with typical quiet confidence. Six minutes of note-taking and talking into a phone, no flashy “Oscar clip.” He even flubs a name (“McGregor” for “Dahlberg”), corrects himself naturally, and Pakula keeps it because it feels authentic. The background is part of the story. As Woodward hones in on his phone call, everyone behind him huddles around a TV watching Senator Tom Eagleton resign. The contrast is deliberate: they chase the “obvious” headline, while the camera drifts past them to Woodward, and the real story. To hold Redford and the busy background in focus early on, they used a split‑diopter lens, then had to ease it out as the camera moves in. A technical tightrope. The timing of both actor and cinematographer is spot on. As Woodward closes in on the truth, the world literally falls away: the newsroom blurs, the noise fades, and we lock into his obsession. It’s one of cinema’s great moments: Redford doing almost nothing—and somehow everything at the same time. What makes this shot brilliant is the contrast it carves between Redford and the newsroom around him. The visual language does the talking: he’s locked in, disciplined, driven, all focus and fire. He stands apart because the work matters more than anything else.

Remember when Australians were actually dying and the then PM, Scumo, said it was not a race? Our current PM is doing a great job on securing liquid fuels. #IStandWithAlbo

@LNPvoterfail Correct @LNPvoterfail and agree. Worse are the mega global corporations that control what we buy. Unilever, P&G, Nestle, Coca-cola, Danone, Mondelez, etc, etc Supermarkets need independent home brands AND pass on savings to consumers - not pocket it themselves.

Small supermarkets are always more expensive. Unable to service large populations. Less purchasing power. More at the mercy of their suppliers. More overheads. Unable to find commercial buildings of size and suitability. Big supermarkets can build. Be careful what you wish for.
Larissa Waters@larissawaters

You deserve politicians who are going to stand up to these corporations - not pocket their money and turn a blind eye. The Greens will keep pushing to break up the Coles and Woolies duopoly and make your groceries cheaper.

I know. A tennis mate of mine does solar batteries. The numbers are simply staggering. It is like all of Australia decided at once to get them. The political ramifications, I reckon, are that all demonising of renewables are beside the point. The nation gets it.
The Noisy Elephant@TheNoisyTrunk

Chris cops it on the chin all the time in QT, fair to give a little bit back. Particularly when MSM really reports stuff like that. As an aside, one of my companies supplies nano coatings for solar panels across electorates mentioned — demand has been so strong we can barely keep up.
