This is what we saw, French Minister and UEFA officials trying to put the blame on LFC fans is absolutely disgusting. @UEFA should not be allowed to run a final anymore.

@scousecharms Thanks for your message & for helping the lad. I assumed you were his dad but now realise he must have been the chap stood behind. That spray was horrid! We were gate H & managed to get in .. but only after getting pepper sprayed much worse when passing the fence. Did you get in?

The French police used tear gas on us tonight. We were just trying to get in. They also used tear gas on children. Absolutely disgusting behaviour #UCLFinal2022 #Police

From the countless first-hand accounts from colleagues, phone footage and fan testimony in Paris, it's plain that the police and stewarding operation against Liverpool fans was dangerous and vindictive. They destroyed their own Champions League final. It was a hollow event.

@FifaBeard @JBurtTelegraph Incorrect. From the neutral zone we could see thousands of empty seats at 8.15z We got in after the police used tear gas on us. Only people causing trouble were locals. The police caused a crush of people and sprayed English, French and Spanish families. Out of control

@JBurtTelegraph It was obvious at 7.45 that the ground was full. BT showing hour old footage of empty seats didn't fool anyone. Yet there were thousands still trying to get in with tickets. Obviously loads got in without tickets / fake tickets. Liverpool fans doing their own fans over.

Eyes and mouth still sore from tear gas. Uefa have now clarified it was tear gas and not pepper spray from the French police. Thanks for that

This is good accurate reporting. It was shambolic. The unnecessarily poor treatment of people peacefully going to watch a football match was awful & unjustified. I saw no behaviour from Liverpool fans that warranted the police reaction. Just fearful fans wanting to see a game.
