@deeestuary I had 2 in a flock of 350 today. Both new to Leighton Moss even though one is getting on a bit.

The Black-tailed Godwits at Caldy (Wirral, UK) are now up to 2,280. This afternoon 12/07/25 they were feeling the heat, 30C, and nearly the whole flock had their beaks in the air and panting. The colour ring bird was ringed near Cork and is a regular here at Caldy. @RichardduFeu

Still shaking after a potential FIRST FOR THE UK today at Trimley Marshes SWT with this Reed Warbler bearing a ring from fooking BUDAPEST!! 🥳 We can’t find any records of any other Reed Warblers from there? In fact, we can’t find records of any passerines from there?

Ms Mystery is shouting for a fish. Females do this to check that the male will be a good provider as they don't fish while nesting. She'll get more than a fish if and when Blue 35 gets back. She's often not back till Mar 30th so fingers crossed. #FoulshawOspreys

If there is one individual bird that highlights how important colour ringing and reading is it's this Redshank at @RSPBLeightonM this morning. I see it every spring. I also see it every September in Lincolnshire where it moults.

@ProfRayWills This still feels wrong. Very roughly 5K cars, 20K miles per year, 20 years, 40mpg average, 30 gallons of petrol/diesel mix per barrel of crude works out at 1.67 million barrels of crude oil. Or just under 1 VLCC full.
