@simplemindqsall @kenwheeler Ah man, I think we could be friends. I do carpentry every week! I’ve made tables, record cabinets, doors, Murphy doors, bed frames. All sorts. The issue is wood right now is insanely expensive.

Small scale, personal farming? 100% agree with you. But deciding to switch - even for you with what amounts to generational knowledge - is no small leap. We on the same page generally speaking though. I’ve seriously considered carpentry/wood working. Far more rewarding vs dev

@Richboothe @kenwheeler And having done some bit of all 3, farming is the wrong choice. You can pick up the others in weeks to months and be very competent. Farming? Yeah there’s a reason why any time 3rd world/communistic govts tries to nationalize of redistribute angry culture famines ensue

If you practice long enough, you’ll gain a skill set were any asshole you talk to will respect you, because you can banter back, and you won’t feel diminished, or look like a pussy.

Has anyone in LA ever been to this shop? It has a 1.9 star review on Yelp. The hundreds of bad reviews talk about the owners being impatient, berating customers for browsing; even hurling insults at potential buyers for their lack of music knowledge. The occasional good reviews all say they came in for specific purchases, the owner told them the same story about his collection and then they leave. I went a few years ago randomly after walking by, I ended up with a record but it was a pretty brutal experience honestly. 1/2

@kennybeats Dude. Kenneth. You’re awesome. If I lived nearby I would have done the same thing. When I go to a record store I usually have a list broken up by genre, and if the employees ask questions I ask them for spinoffs, which lets me know if they know anything. You played this perfectly

I went back today, with specifics in mind; and had an unbelievable experience. My first Yelp review ever is below. Don't let Sandy or Henry scare you. They have so much to tell and offer, they just are too afraid of the world now to share it most of the time. Who isn't. If you get a chance to go, do your homework; but I promise you won't regret it. 2/2

@kenwheeler Not me I grew up in a farming community and am well aware devs aren’t qualified in the slightest to move to farming and make a living. Go welding or plumbing or electrician.
