Yeah, I totally understand (like you), in wanting to stay lean and such... it's just, again, it doesn't seem like they're comprehending the optics of this. They're already struggling to keep people happy with the ad platform... and as one business owner put it, they actually increased the "cost" of their platform for businesses due to this. I honestly think we're close to G needing a crisis PR person to begin helping think through decisions like this.

@adsliaison @PPCKirk @chriskos I'm not sure folks are worried about the disruption to their ad serving with the switch. You are now adding a 2.5% tax to their ads they didn't have before. Are the thresholds for who this applies to available?

We notified a small segment of advertisers that the billing options available for their Ads accounts are changing. This means that some customers will move to bank payments via monthly invoicing or direct debit from a bank account. To make this transition as easy as possible, we already launched new tools and features to help customers through this process and to ensure minimal disruption to their accounts.

Fascinating email. Expedia pays Google billions (with a B) per year in ad spend. This is why I expect a civil (likely class action) lawsuit against Google eventually for things like squashing and RGSP (I.e., “shaking the couch cushions”). RGSP likely targeted Expedia based on its size in the auctions. #ppcchat
