Here's the part where Val Ackerman is either: 1. Not very smart, or 2. obfuscating the truth. The NBA's system recognizes the athletes as employees, and they have a union that represents them to carefully negotiate these very rules on their behalf.

This is false. There are less than 10 transgender college athletes in the NCAA in total, per NCAA prez Charlie Baker. There are lawsuits and orgs (like one I wrote about this weekend) that are making it look like there's a flood of trans athletes in women's sports. There isn't.
