Seems like everyone with a Clay license calls themselves a "GTM Engineer."
But there's a big difference between running automations and truly engineering a GTM motion optimized for your sellers.
For me, a real GTM Engineer is the person obsessing over processes, enriching lead quality, and removing friction so sales can actually sell.
Instead, we've been seeing automation experts over-engineering simple sales processes (that shouldn't be touched at all).
Now every org is becoming overly complex.
And they aren't getting results.
Hot take:
With everyone trying to become a growth hacker or GTM engineer, I'd argue it's the best time to go back to basics.

@MarketingMax 100%. The challenge is that many marketers are only targeted on TOFU metrics. So unfortunately in many cases getting an email/lead is good enough.
