Birzeit University has been raided 26 times since 2002. Here’s the breakdown from @Right2Edu Campaign’s latest report:

This is the 26th Israeli military raid on the campus since 2002, and the 7th since October 2023. It coincided with the start of the new semester as students prepared a protest for Palestinian prisoners, including the 150 Birzeit students currently held in Israeli detention.

Today, Israeli forces stormed @BirzeitU for the second time in less than a month, breaching the campus with a convoy of 20 military vehicles. Witnesses reported soldiers firing live ammunition and tear gas at students attending lectures, injuring 41.

I call it genocide because IT IS genocide. Defined by intent, not by method or means. Happening now: twelve activists including Greta Thunberg are en route to Gaza aboard the Freedom Flotilla, with the goal of bringing much needed aid to Palestinians, breaking the Israeli government’s genocidal blockade starving over 2.3 million people.

“We are watching Israel try to wipe Palestine off the face of the earth” At MIT’s 2025 commencement on May 29, Class President Megha Vemuri condemned the university’s ties to Israel’s military and defense industry, calling it “a shame that MIT is a part of it.” As the ceremony ended, graduates raised a Palestinian flag and chanted, “Free, Free Palestine!” Student organizers have escalated pressure on MIT to sever ties with Israel’s arms industry. Earlier this year, they scored a major victory as MIT ended its partnership with Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. Elbit drones and surveillance systems have been widely used in Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. MIT President Sally Kornbluth, who spoke immediately after Vemuri, did not address her remarks. Kornbluth had last year been called before Congress to testify about “antisemitism” on campus.
