It’s a complicated piece of software with generalized systems and defaults. Dev absolutely need to tune, customize and sometimes even replace pieces of it to make it work for them.

Not once have I blamed the devs, they’re using what they’ve been given lmfao. If a game engine’s feature can’t be efficiently used that’s on the engine.

Vast majority of games are poorly optimized. There are outliers where studios use homegrown proprietary engines and that just reinforces my point.

Because literally most of the games that don't use this engine are mostly well optimized and run smooth without stuttering etc.
