@Robin_W_1 The 2006-08 version was perfect. Felt majority of the time he did the right thing ie passed or crossed when he should, shot when he should. Later(in particular at madrid) he became obsessed with stats, sometimes shooting on site, often when he could've passed.

In some ways I preferred the 94 and 99 Utd, but this was the best Utd team I have seen. Also preferred Ronaldo in this role compared to what he became at Madrid

I always said - he should have been the guy that Anakin eventually grows through the trilogy to defeat to become the Emperor's student. We could have had three movies of Maul being a total badass, doing badass stuff, building us all up to the big fight that coalesces in Anakin's final fall. The possibilities were all right there - Maul could have hunted down Anakin's loved ones, killed them all, thwarted the Republic for two entire movies as a true villain... Anakin gives into the Dark Side to defeat him. It would have been glorious. What we got... was less so.

Darth Maul made me so mad. He featured so much in the ads. I was excited to see him and his evil terrible deeds, and then all that happened is he cackled "yes master" to Palpatine's plot, then had a lightsaber fight which he kind of lost. What a great-looking character completely wasted.

@da_asmodai @SandyofCthulhu But dooku was a former jedi, which gave him an actual arc. Also, Christopher Lee could talk to his subordinates like a general. Or an actual sith lord. Lucas was also going for the idea that palpatine keeps replacing his apprentice.

@SandyofCthulhu Agreed, they could have just cut Count Dooku out and had Darth Maul do all his stuff going forward instead... they Yoda and Maul fight would have been epic.

It's a tremendous movie that leaves a bad taste in my mouth with the son being alive at magically at the grandparents house in the one undestroyed block of Boston. It's something that undercuts the horror that we've been through, and cheapens the emotional experience of losing a child to the war, and so strengthening your protective instincts over the only thing in your life that you still have left that matters and oh oh oh, wait, nevermind, the son is alive after all, everything is good, all of the characters from this family are still alive, forget all the horrors, we have a happy ending. Could've been a 9 or 10/10 movie, but that ending brings it down to the 7-8/10 range for me.

I shall say it again like a broken record. One of Steven Spielberg's best films and one of the best blockbusters of the 2000s. A film that has aged beautifully and has only gotten more terrifying.

@90sfootball At various points in this move Giggs is left midfield and central midfield. Irwin left back and left wing. Keane’s on the right, then in the middle, then left wing. Cantona’s drifting all over the place. Total football. Chelsea chasing shadows.
