When @MonashCouncil upgrades pitch 3 ($500,000 allocated in 26/27 council budget) at Gardiners Reserve (home of the @EasternLionsSC), it will be of vital important that entrances to the pitch are reinforced/altered & CCTV/security response improved to prevent random hoon burnouts on the playing surface which you can see 👇 from late June. 🤯
IMO, council should also look at sealing up the gravel area behind one of the goals. It could be a sizeable spot for extra parking (probably the best outcome for a 3-pitch facility) or maybe some form of green or storage area. At the moment it’s another random burnout spot with gravel flying everywhere as a bi-product.
It’s important council get this valuable VIC⚽️ infrastructure upgrade right no? 🤔

#BREAKING: In the @MonashCouncil 26/27 budget, Gardiners Creek Reserve (home of the @EasternLionsSC) has been allocated $500,000 to update pitch 3 (a full size grass pitch that is currently not used due to its poor unplayable condition - its cratered in areas, has no drainage & irrigation, image included 👇). I’m hoping for drainage & irrigation to be installed & a new, laser surfaced flat grass pitch. This will insert an entirely new pitch into VIC⚽️ (in a relatively central area), & IMO, @footballvic, @MonashCouncil, @VicGovAu, @JacintaAllanMP, @Steve_Dimo, @AlboMP & co should seriously consider future investment in this facility, as my view is it can be developed into a relatively high performance inner-city facility to service a lot of ⚽️ (junior, youth & senior, 🚺 & 🚹, community & high performance). In addition, Waverley Wanderers at Carlson Reserve ($375,000) & I believe Glen Waverley SC at Larpent Reserve ($450,000) are also getting LED Sportsground Lighting. #NPL Green Gully has been mismanaged and dissapointing to see a once powerful club struggle. They will go down along with Bentleigh Greens and Dandenong Thunder. Greens losing the stable coaching combination of Tolios and Billy T will haunt Greens for many years to come.

Our pathways aren’t broken. Our pathways are the best it has ever been. Our coaching at grassroots level is far superior than it’s ever been. We have some outstanding coaches developing players in NPL including u18/20 divisions.
Our grassroots clubs, private academies, state based teams are producing some incredible talent for our youth international teams.
Our young players have attracted million dollar transfers.
You can’t judge our team being knocked out of the R32 on penalties as the problem being our pathways.
Our youthful Socceroos squad is going to do amazing things at the World Cup in 2030!
End of the day, Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Japan to name a few all finished equal with the Socceroos at this World Cup after 1 knockout game. Take that in!
