There seem to be two main groups
1️⃣ Those who post all day long about using coding agents but don’t seem to ship anything
2️⃣ A small group whose output has dramatically increased and are constantly shipping valuable things
The irony is that the ratio of these probably remains unchanged from before AI even existed. It also seems 2️⃣ can outship 1️⃣ even more so the “ship-rich will get richer” so to speak.

The one where you do it away from the public behind closed doors… and the one where you get told to turn your model off because it’s “dangerous” Say what you want about @sama but he knows how to play the game and has done it masterfully at every step. I don’t expect Fable back anytime soon

The administration viewed her as a "radical Democrat." She was then publicly celebrated by Chris Krebs, the official Trump just fired. That didn't help. Behind the scenes, officials describe a company that simply doesn't know how to talk to this administration. "It's like they just speak different languages," one source said. "Everybody said Anthropic was a bad actor. Some of us said it was time to give them a chance. Now those people are questioning that. They screwed us." Today: Anthropic staffers meet with Commerce, the CIA, and White House science advisor Michael Kratsios to work through compliance with the cyber executive order. The technical question - can Fable 5 be jailbroken - is almost secondary now. This is a story about a company that keeps losing the room. Ill keep you updated.

Google has started mixing ads right into the middle of image search results. It decreases search quality dramatically. Now when you search for images of a watch, you get watches that aren't even from the same manufacturer. I've actually switched to Bing for some searches.

That's not inaccurate but I think still and unfair read. Satya may be making lemonade out of his second class model lemons, but he also happens to be right. His position, as much as he may not like it, gives him a good perspective. It's where a lot of us are, and a lot of us will remain.

Here are some principles you can infer from @satyanadella's paragraph:
- There will be a better model tomorrow.
- Prompts are great for building POCs, but terrible at specifying system behaviors.
- To switch models easily, you need good evals and a system for generating and holding a new prompt accountable for a given model.
- With such a system, you can almost certainly use a model magnitudes faster and cheaper than frontier models.
- Evals are THE asset for all enterprises.
- Evals should never stop growing.

alright, in non-politico speak what satya is saying is:
- we're (microsoft) are not gonna build a opus, or even a fable level model anytime soon
- but we probably will have a few more small models that work for key industries that businesses can use
- them models aren't what makes AI magic, it's the workflows, we (microsoft) will sell our customers the stack (because we're unlikely going to have a competitive model anytime soon)
