Today we remembered the many heroes from the Roanoke and New River Valleys that have given the last full measure of devotion. Thank you to David Radford and Chris Obenshain for your heartfelt remarks in Roanoke and Christiansburg today.

The Memorial Day parade in Marion annually honors Southwest Virginia’s fallen heroes. Today, I walked in Marion’s parade and gave thanks to our region’s incredible fallen heroes.

This Memorial Day we remember those that gave the last full measure of devotion. Supervisor David Radford spoke today about his uncle’s sacrifice in World War II and why we owe it to our heroes that we preserve and further build the community that they loved.

I walked with local elected officials in Marion’s Memorial Day parade. The town of Marion does a lovely job every year, the local community turns out to honor our fallen veterans, even in the rain.

Virginia’s Ninth District observes Memorial Day to pay tribute to the ultimate sacrifices made by American servicemembers. We continue to honor the legacy of their dedication, resilience and service.

It was my pleasure to attend VFW Post 2447’s Memorial Day Service in Edinburg today, where I got to meet and thank WWII veteran Don Huffman. We are thankful every day for those who fought and passed to keep America free.

Memorial Day is a day to remember those who gave their lives in service of our country. The Ninth has so many wonderful men and women who have given their lives for our country. Think of them on this Memorial Day.

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. We live in freedom because others were willing to lay down their lives in its defense. As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we pause to reflect on the tremendous price that has been paid for the liberties we enjoy and remember the families who carry that sacrifice every day. 🚨STATEMENT from RPV Chair Jeff Ryer: “Expeditiously and without dissent, the Supreme Court of the United States has effectively affirmed the judgment of the Supreme Court of Virginia. This action brings to an end this disheartening and cynical episode in Virginia history, where one party tried to silence the voices of half of their fellow Virginians.”

The unconstitutional gerrymander of Virginia has now also lost at the U.S. Supreme Court. Hopefully the General Assembly will finally focus on delivering the 60+ day late Virginia budget and fund public schools, fund law enforcement and give tax relief to working Virginians.
