@RobJailbreakrob @BuzzPatterson Of course they did. That’s entirely how the accident occurred. Listen to the recordings. The ATC fellow even admitted fault.

@chiguypotts @AirCanada Why then weren’t the engine thrust reversers fully deployed if the “front & rear gear are all on the ground” as you described? (because they landed hot?)

@RobJailbreakrob @AirCanada So close to getting it my man, ultimately 4 key words you keep missing: ‘determining the errors made’ But here’s the video; front & rear gear are all on the ground with plane barreling down the runway as fire engine crosses onto active runway. x.com/turbinetravele…

Here’s CCTV footage capturing the exact moment Air Canada Express Flight AC8646, a Bombardier CRJ-900, collided with a Port Authority fire truck at LaGuardia Airport last night.

@m200pilot @BuzzPatterson There’s NO way in hell the ATC controller gave Truck 1 permission to cross active runway 4 if the Air Canada jet didn’t have adequate spacing. BTW, I actually met Chuck Fucking Yeager and it was awesome!

@RobJailbreakrob @BuzzPatterson So how fast were they going? You implied they were coming in too fast. You're obviously an aviation expert, and have done research on the matter. So how "hot" were they "coming in", Sky King? Back it up with data, Chuck Fucking Yeager! Or are you just talking out of your ass?

@RobJailbreakrob @chiguypotts @AirCanada Please go educate yourself on airport operations and procedure. This is an accident and rage baiting is useless. Landing aircraft always have priority on final approach. ATC made an error, probably severely understaffed. Fire truck should have held short.

@RobJailbreakrob @BuzzPatterson Fast might be 10 kts. You’re splitting hairs here. When an aircraft is cleared to land, the runway is theirs. They wouldn’t cross emergency equipment mid field having cleared an aircraft to land. The safety margins wouldn’t allow for that.

Listen to the ‘pause’ before the ATC controller gave Truck 1 permission to cross the active runway. He obviously checked the spacing of the jet to the intersection where the truck crossed — and it was permissible. If in fact they touched down fast, which happens, that was the reason why the controller said “STOP, STOP, STOP.”

@RobJailbreakrob @BuzzPatterson No. I don't think that. What would make you even say that? Your hours of experience on MS Flight Simulator? Or would that still be overstating your expertise in aviation?

@chiguypotts @AirCanada Read back what you wrote SLOWLY There’s NO way in hell the ATC controller gave Truck 1 permission to cross active runway 4 if the Air Canada jet “was fully on the ground” as you say. Do you even hear yourself right now?

@RobJailbreakrob @AirCanada apparently you can’t read, use an audio reader this time: determining the errors made by the atc/port authority/fdny last night will be done by the investigators but the air Canada plane was fully on the ground giving them the number 1 priority as they were cleared before the 🚒

@chiguypotts @AirCanada As a New Yorker, I have skin in this game — you don’t. Frankly, I don’t want to have my taxes go up to pay for the replacement of a Port Authority fire truck. They’re high enough in New York State already. This should ALL be on Canada’s dime.

@chiguypotts @AirCanada Listen again to the ATC controller giving Truck 1 permission to cross active runway 4. Listen to the “pause” before he grants the fire truck permission. That meant he checked there was initial adequate spacing before the jet landed.

@RobJailbreakrob @AirCanada Airplanes always have priority over other vehicles on the ground. Just like trains always have priority over other vehicles at railroad crossings. Determining what errors were made to allow this to happen will be done but regardless the firetruck must yield to all moving aircraft

@robert30896 @BuzzPatterson Based upon the video. Guaranteed the ATC controller knew the jet’s approach speed and spacing. That’s why he paused before giving Truck 1 to cross the active runway.

@RobJailbreakrob @NTSB We don’t use percent for flaps. Also the speed is based on aircraft weight and flap setting not the runway condition.

@azredhead @BuzzPatterson Put down the crack pipe, the collision with the Port Authority fire truck occurred upon landing — not takeoff.

@Rich76757 @NTSB I’ve landed many times 50’ over the runway threshold without coming in hot or long depending upon 50% - 100% flaps, runway RCR, headwind, etc. so your point is moot.

@RobJailbreakrob @NTSB Airplanes “come in hot” on every landing, you need to go really fast to generate lift. This aircraft was already decelerating on the landing roll.

@RobJailbreakrob @BuzzPatterson No offense but how would this have anything to do with anything? They were on the runway and were cleared to land. If in fact they touched down fast, which happens, so what. It’s a pointless point.
