Today, in partnership with @ughe_org, @INES_Ruhengeri, and @AarhusUni #Denmark, we officially launched the Global Health Hub in #Kigali through a strategic quadripartite partnership. This hub will serve as a powerful platform for advancing collaborative research, academic exchange, innovation, and policy engagement while strengthening health systems in Rwanda and beyond. By bringing together local and global expertise, the initiative positions Kigali as a growing center for knowledge, solutions, and impact in global health.

Yesterday, we successfully hosted the #Kwibuka32 Edit-a-thon. The event brought together young editors, storytellers, archivists, historians, and passionate advocates to strengthen the documentation of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi on @Wikipedia and its sister projects. Our Founder and Executive Director, @NdahiroDerrickk opened the event by underscoring a critical reality: “The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi remains under-documented online most especially on open source platforms , often riddled with inaccuracies, misinformation, and denial. Through this edit-a-thon, we are confronting that gap head-on — by writing and improving high-quality articles in Kinyarwanda, English, and French; uploading survivors’ testimonies, photographs, audio, and video; and ensuring the world has access to a truthful, well-sourced historical record on Wikimedia Foundation sites” Renowned author, artivist, film director, and journalist @DadydeMaximo Mwicira-Mitali delivered a powerful message to young people, urging them to take ownership of Rwanda’s collective history. He stressed the ethical responsibility of documentation, respecting the victims’s privacy, verifying sources, combating genocide denial with facts, and using digital platforms for meaningful advocacy. “Working together allows each young person to contribute their unique strengths and talents to this vital cause,” it is our story, and we must be its authors” he noted. Dady also pledged ongoing collaboration with us to curate and preserve Rwanda’s history on open knowledge platforms. @clnizeyimana , Director of the National Library services and Archives at MINUBUMWE Rwanda , highlighted the urgent need to correct inaccurate and misleading Wikipedia articles related to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. He extended an open invitation for Wikimedians to access resources at the National Library and Archives, while commending Wikimedia Rwanda’s growing influence in reshaping Rwanda’s narrative on the global stage. The practical editing sessions were expertly led by our members @RobertRugamba Robert and @Ngufashe (Musindi Cedric ) worked diligently to improve outdated and misleading #Kinyarwanda Wikipedia articles and contributed valuable historical materials to Wikimedia Commons “Every edit matters. Over the past two days (24th–25th March, 2026), @WGYB_NGO was honored to participate in a 2-day workshop on Designing, Monitoring, and Evaluating Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), organized by @chbrwanda in partnership with @UnescoEast and the @RBCRwanda. We were inspired by the insights shared by @anicetnzab, who reminded us that: “Young people still have an important role to play in advancing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).” The workshop deepened our understanding of #SRHR and strengthened our capacity to design evidence-based #CSE interventions, monitor teenage pregnancy trends, and apply results-driven M&E frameworks for greater impact. We reaffirm our commitment to empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and right tools they need to make informed choices and lead healthy lives. #TeenPregnancyPrevention #EvidenceBasedPrograms
