Murang’a County has launched a One Stop Comprehensive Reproductive Health Clinic at Maragua Level-4 Hospital to strengthen access to quality and affordable reproductive healthcare services. The facility, established through a partnership between the Murang’a County Government, VIDHA Association and the Embassy of Spain in Kenya, integrates multiple reproductive health services under one roof to improve efficiency and patient care. Deputy Governor Stephen Munania described the clinic as a major milestone in enhancing healthcare delivery, noting that the facility is equipped with modern diagnostic tools and telemedicine technology to support maternal healthcare, cervical cancer screening, and early disease detection.

News about fatalities involving boda bodas has become so common that it is dangerously easy to become desensitized to the painful reality behind the headlines, and to forget that each of us has a role to play in creating safer roads. Road safety begins long before we leave our homes. It begins with decisions: The decision to value human life; the decision to wait that extra second and give way to another road user; the decision to be kind; the decision to follow traffic rules. The walk was organized to reinforce important messages around road safety for boda boda riders, while also encouraging greater mutual respect among all road users. Rwanda Explores Sovereign AI Infrastructure Partnerships at ACF2026 KIGALI — On the sidelines of ACF2026, Rwanda’s Ministry and key technology partners held strategic discussions with AminiTech and Foxconn Oficial on advancing sovereign AI infrastructure solutions tailored to African markets. The meeting centered on the development of modular AI datacenters designed to address Africa’s unique infrastructure realities, including energy efficiency, scalability, and regional connectivity challenges. Stakeholders emphasized the growing importance of establishing regional compute capacity to support the next generation of locally relevant artificial intelligence applications across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and financial services. Participants highlighted that strengthening Africa’s AI infrastructure ecosystem will be critical to ensuring data sovereignty, accelerating innovation, and reducing dependence on external compute resources. The discussions brought together leaders and organizations active in Rwanda’s technology and innovation ecosystem, including Kate Kallot, RISA Rwanda, QT Software Ltd, and BSC Rwanda. The engagement reflects Rwanda’s continued push to position itself as a regional hub for digital transformation and emerging technologies, while fostering partnerships aimed at building resilient AI capabilities across the continent.

Today, I convened health authorities from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan, alongside regional and international partners, to assess the evolving epidemiological situation and align on urgent response priorities. With high population mobility, insecurity, and intense cross-border movement, rapid and coordinated regional action is critical to support countries in containing further spread, caring for those infected, and protecting vulnerable populations. Discussions focused on epidemiological updates, immediate response priorities, cross-border and point-of-entry coordination, and the situation of medical countermeasures, including innovations underway for the Budibugyo strain of EVD. We are delighted to activate the continental IMST mechanism to support countries. We are so proud that each country has activated their national response plans, and it is an honour to give them our solidarity. Africa’s health security and sovereignty depend on speedy, quality, and coordinated action. I appreciate the commitment of governments and partners mobilizing critical resources to respond to the #EbolaOutbreak. --- Aujourd’hui, j’ai convoqué les autorités sanitaires de la République démocratique du Congo, de l’Ouganda et du Soudan du Sud, ainsi que des partenaires régionaux et internationaux, afin d’évaluer l’évolution de la situation épidémiologique et de nous mettre d’accord sur les priorités d’intervention d’urgence. Compte tenu de la forte mobilité de la population, de l’insécurité et des mouvements transfrontaliers intenses, une action régionale rapide et coordonnée est essentielle pour aider les pays à contenir la propagation, à prendre en charge les personnes infectées et à protéger les populations vulnérables.
