My COVID cautious and masking young friend/assistant and I were heading to the mall in Aylmer and she said “Maybe the teenage boys will stop following me around, insulting me if you’re there.”
We didn’t even make to the mall when a couple of teen boys walked by and spat at her.

@cdtwriter I think I’m more disturbed than I would have been had the interaction been directed at me. She is mid-20s but is tiny. Like, she could pass for 15 yo, especially when masked.

We were crossing the street and the light had changed, but I called the little fucker out. He didn’t turn around. I’m livid.
We don’t get that kind of treatment in Ottawa, but Gatineau/Aylmer is very different (stupid? Ignorant?) beast.

Yea, I'm done explaining to people why the *acute* fatality rate of COVID isn't all that matters. Many will simply minimize themselves to an early, preventable death and/or chronic illness. I honestly don't know how the denial barrier can be broken.
