NEW: GameStop’s latest 10-K reveals it did NOT sell its 4,709 BTC, but pledged it as collateral with Coinbase Credit as part of a covered-call strategy. The company sold call options on a portion of its bitcoin holdings, collecting premium income while capping upside between $105K–$110K. The strategy generates yield but limits gains if BTC rallies above those levels. The agreement expires Friday. As of Jan 31, the position carried a $700K liability and $2.3M unrealized gain. Some contracts later expired unexercised. GameStop also disclosed Coinbase can rehypothecate, commingle, or sell the pledged BTC, meaning control of the assets has effectively been transferred.
