Jim Chalmers brutal on Tim Wilson for “trying to weaponise a campaign against the very changes he called for” in his own book on changing the CGT “He’d want to be careful that the Daily Telegraph doesn’t put him on the front of paper with a hammer & sickle next to him”🔥 #auspol

Under Labor’s new tax: — You can walk into a casino, come out $1000 ahead, and pay $0 tax — but if you make $1000 on shares/ETFs, you will pay $300-470 in tax — if you build & sell a business, the ATO now takes 30-47% of your gain Gambling is tax-free. Investing is punished.

Absolutely incredible: Over the last 6 years, the S&P 500 has risen +130% while US Consumer Sentiment has collapsed by -55%, to its lowest since data began in 1952. We are witnessing the formation of the biggest wealth divide in modern history.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

BREAKING: US Consumer Sentiment officially falls to its lowest level on record in data going back to 1952, down another -10% last month. Consumers now see inflation rising to 4.8% over the next 12 months. This puts the Consumer Sentiment index down -21% since February 2026, before the Iran War. Not even the 1980s saw Consumer Sentiment this low.

This man robbed a bank for $1, sat down and waited for the police, just to get free healthcare in prison In 2011 a man named Richard James Verone walked into a RBC Bank in Gastonia, North Carolina Handed the teller a note demanding $1 One dollar Then sat down in the lobby and waited calmly for police to arrive He was 59. No job. No insurance. A growth on his chest. Two ruptured discs. Calculated that a federal conviction would guarantee him full medical coverage inside prison The judge sentenced him to 3 years He got the surgery He got the treatment He told reporters on the way out he had no regrets A 59 year old American man robbed a bank for $1 because it was cheaper than seeing a doctor

Plutus is the smart contract platform behind applications built on Cardano. This proposal focuses on enhancing: • efficiency and cost-effectiveness • security, reliability, and testing • readiness for the next generation of Cardano infrastructure • the developer experience and tooling It’s about making Cardano’s core smart contract layer more efficient, more secure, and more accessible for builders. As Cardano adoption grows, investing in the foundations matters. Plutus is one of those foundations. Read the proposal: momentum.cardano.iog.io/proposals/plut…

Indigo V3 might be one of the bigger Cardano DeFi upgrades people are underestimating. Pyth Pro for stronger oracle infrastructure. PSMs for cleaner stablecoin routing. Limitless iAssets for forex-style exposure. Multi-collateral markets. A bi-directional order book. Then the Innovation Proposal adds RWA rails, BTC-Fi and a Treasury revenue share model. Is this the kind of proposal Cardano should be backing? Not a paid promotion x.com/Indigo_protoco…

I fully endorse and support the IO Research governance proposal. Research is at the core of Cardano's identity. It runs through our veins and has been a decisive, defining factor for years. Ours is a complex industry, surrounded by bad-faith projects or ones headed toward outcomes worse than mere failure. Yet Cardano has always distinguished itself through its papers and academic rigor. Regardless of where you are in the world, that foundation lent credibility and professionalism to the conversation, a rare quality in an industry that so often lacks it. I myself entered the space through its academic dimension. While I was a student, a friend who is now a software engineer encouraged me to explore Cardano and its research papers. That introduction inspired me to incorporate Cardano into essays and academic work throughout my undergraduate, specialization, and graduate studies, as well as in legal doctrine articles and publications. This commitment to rigor also speaks to the network's standing beyond our community. On one occasion, at a distinguished meeting I attended, a director at the Central Bank, the equivalent of the United States Federal Reserve, mentioned that he had heard of Cardano precisely because of its reputation as a "serious," "professional" network grounded in "scientific rigor." Aggelos Kiayias and several of the researchers and PhDs associated with IO Research are world-renowned scientists, widely admired and respected, who have done phenomenal work. They have provided the technical and theoretical foundations that were then translated into practice, giving rise to the very existence of our networks, Cardano and Midnight, networks on which many people today build their livelihoods and professional structures. The proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, along with many other fundamentals that gave us our distinctive mark in the market, would not exist without their research and published work. On March 30, 2026, Google Quantum AI and Google Research published a technical paper on the real impact of quantum computing on blockchain security, explicitly referencing Cardano within a structured taxonomy of quantum risk. This is precisely the kind of environment where foundational research matters. Post-quantum cryptography remains an open and developing field, but the decisions made today in how systems are designed and studied will determine who is prepared tomorrow, and in time, may provide an unmatched competitive advantage in the market. Beyond that, every technical research effort becomes a legacy for humanity as a whole, advancing our understanding from traditional frameworks toward the complex study of distributed technologies and blockchain, returning enriched knowledge not only to the scientific community but to society at large. To me, that is also changing the world, and part of the purpose that brought me here and keeps me here. That presence, that essence, that soul, it is what defines our ecosystem.

⚡️ Ukraine proposes ceasefire in occupied Oleshky to evacuate civilians The Ukrainian government has offered a humanitarian ceasefire in the devastated town of Oleshky so that thousands of trapped residents can finally escape. According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, both sides have already agreed on the evacuation of around 6,000 civilians, including 200 children. Oleshky has been under Russian occupation since 2022. Once a lively town, it has become a ghost town constantly under shelling and drone attacks. The world is watching: Will Russia allow trapped families to leave?

@TheKouk While there is no general CGT, If an asset is purchased for the purpose of making a profit, the gain is taxed as income. To prevent housing speculation, the Bright-line rule taxes gains on certain residential properties if they are bought & sold within specific timeframes.
